It seems that in the last couple of month (maybe thanks to the lockdown) this project went big and more people are aware to it. Still, it's huge length of 6 and a half hours might deterrent some people. Since there wasn't any organized upload of the project as playlist I decided to upload myself In hope it will encourage more people to listen to the whole albums.
I own no rights on this upload - all rights belong to James Leyland Kirby (The Caretaker) and you can support him here: thecaretaker.bandcamp.com/alb....
If you want to read more or listen to the whole project in one go check the OG upload: • The Caretaker - Everyw...

I find this calming. Terribly, tragically sad, but calming. At this point the patient has forgotten how to think, and recognizes almost nothing. The mind is a howling, nearly empty wilderness. The melodic droning perfectly captures the vast emptiness and it is both devastating and beautiful.

0:00 to 7:59 is probably the musical equivalent of an ADHD mind that has been forcefully halted of its usual chaotic thought processes by some unexpected event (like hearing news that is dreaded, or seeing something happen, or just simply an unexpected event like trying to pull on a door handle only for it to unexpectedly pull off so easily) and is trying to process the situation at hand. Extremely little to no intrusive thoughts are able to come in, even the most prominent ones are reduced to a speechless whisper. Instead, a deafeningly loud silence if not a loud droning silence takes its place, banishing every single thought except the one that’s processing the situation like a hydrogen bomb leveling a city. My most favorite part of M1 - Synapse Retrogenesis

Wow, I felt that. You're just doing your everyday things, your mind is such a garbled mess of thoughts, music, memories and god-knows-what-else, business as usual, and then... silence. Sudden realization. Explosion in your head, that wipes out everything on its way. Probably this sounds like that because first section of the M1 is a semi-clarity, which is so nice to listen after K1 and L1, that are hell at its finest... maybe it is what it is because brain is damaged too much and person is just living his best years. In memories. Once again. Thinks that they're 30-40 instead of 75-80, does not recognize people, and has an intellectual abilities of a 3 year old baby.

That is so true, as a person with ADHD. It happens rarely, but if there is a unique situation, then this time period perfectly describes what the abrupt stop in thought speed is like.

The meaning of Synapse is "a junction between two nerve cells, consisting of a minute gap across which impulses pass by diffusion of a neurotransmitter" Retrogenesis means "is the process by which degenerative mechanisms reverse the order of acquisition in normal development." so it means the neurons are working but backwards which tells us what has been happening this entire time.

There is only one sector of memory still remaining. Childhood. 0:00 - Those who've migrated to a hollow, yet untouched land, now reside and enjoy their time here. The war on the front appears to have ended. Maybe, dementia forgot striking here. It's best to enjoy as much as possible, as there's no such thing as a purpose now. 8:00 - The battle takes place here now. Memories get torn to shreds, but the aura, the collective hope of everyone here tries to defend. 12:13 - The aura is no more, the situation here is the same as it was on the front. Dementia reanimates any leftover corpses from before and extinguishes not only the burning determination of the survivors, but also their bodies for an increasing army size. 14:55 - Yet, the aura comes back for one last time. It sends a goodbye to everyone that are still left and evaporates into nothingness.

This track is the scarriest. it shows the patient cant even recover their memories or recover in any aspect. remembering will not get you anywhere or save you. The battle was lost long ago but you never remembered. No fight in you,no memories in you,no life in you. All you know is.. nothing. You dont know anything, dont know whats going on. Your mind is losing while you are in a traumatized bliss state. Your mind is in a peaceful and desperate state. What was once clear is now empty. What was once fun is now isolation. What was once a happy person is now sad. Its disturbing to think this happens so often and hundereds of people suffer from one of the worst diseases ever. Dementia shows how much we should be glad that we have memories and recall easily. Without we forget how to talk, walk, eat, breathe and other imporrant things. Respect to all with or who has a relative with this disease.

Post Awareness Stage 5: Substage M This stage initially starts off in bliss, but it won't last. At 8:00 the peaceful droning (The patient's lucidity) is abruptly shattered by noise, this being the Alzheimer's disease destroying the brain, and slowly reverting the patient to the state of a newborn. The patient is aging in reverse now, Alzheimer's literally being the reversal of the existence of the patient. Here is all that is destroyed in the brain: The link between hemispheres vaporizes, along with the optic nerves, depriving the patient of sight. Half of the brain's cells are erased, shrinking the brain substantially and starting the reversal of time continued in Substage N. The patient ages in reverse, with the first things he did in life being the last things to go. By the end of Retrogenesis he is left as an infant. N is the next substage, and it is merely a continuation of M.

Sounds like slowly turning the tuning dial on a radio, trying to find a station. The signal is weak, and no matter how much you turn the knob or where you stop it you can’t quite get a clear signal, and you can tell there’s more than one station getting jumbled together. Like a brain with dementia struggling to remember and isolate just one memory clearly.

Caretaker Fact: The Synapse Retrogenesis process you see here actually takes place three times across the album. The first occurs in K1, with the iconic whistling (which can also be heard slowed in M1). The main linking factor here is the use of Mournful Cameraderie as a soft drone, alongside other various set pieces. The second kind of makes a name for itself. The third, and final, occurs in O1, and is by far the least noticeable of the three. You can occasionally hear a relatively clear F8, as well as the iconic organ present in M1SA, however pretty quiet for the most part. This segment is also likely responsible for and transitions into P1, A brutal bliss beyond this empty defeat.

Stage 5 Substage M: Here, we begin to see a phenomenon in the patient's brain known as synapse retrogenesis. What it is is that the brain of the patient has begun to devolve as memories seem to be destroyed by the reverse of the order in which they were created. Old memories seem to stay intact while new memories get disintegrated. As a result, the patient starts to turn back into an infant as the brain shrinks and regresses. Substage N: A continuation of substage M. The patient loses much of the abilities important for adulthood. As a result, the caretaker now has to be a parent in some way as the patient becomes a child for the second time. Much of the new memories have been completely obliterated while only childhood memories remain. In other words, once a man, twice a boy.

Everyone talks about the +1 F8 at 4:50, but nobody ever talks about the +2 F8 at 2:51. Honestly, I believe the F8 sample speeds in M1SA may actually be a spectrum similar to Black and White Rag or G1SA where every sample speed between X and Y is used, rather than just a select few values.

Useless fact #1: F8 is sampled throughout all of M1 except from 8:03 to 12:16. This, along with A1, C3, and Guy Lombardo's Heartaches all being sampled in Layer 4 from 12:16 to 14:54, makes M1 - Synapse Retrogenesis the most heartaches-heavy track in EATEOT. Useless fact #2: Speaking of, layer 4 is a Post-Awareness layer comprised of G1, H1, and J1 all mashed together. (It's like Post-Awareness Post-Awareness Confusions) Useless fact #3: H1 Layer 6, or the Ramona segment, faintly appears in Layer 4, technically marking the Layton and Johnstone Piano Medley's eighth main appearance in the Caretaker discography.
