Yes he was and I absolutely LOVE the dark hair on him!!! And he was born and raised about an hour away from where I was... who knew!? But about 10 years before me lol. OHIO The Cars were the playlist of my life back in the day. RIP Ben and Ric, we miss you much. 🕊🌹🙏

Songs like Let's Go, Night Spots, You Can't Hold On Too Long, Dangerous Type, etc. really encapsulated the darker, lurid side of New Wave for me, but especially Candy O....it never felt like a love song to me, more of a lust song, but deeply expressive of how powerful that lust feeling can be for a young man. Rock and Roll and Rock have surely had their many, many expressions of that feeling over the decades, but this is the dark side of New Wave, defined!

The great Benjamin Orr and Candy-O has been a lot on MY head this weekend starting Sunday night with Episode #52 of The Night Thoughts podcast. I never really realized how just much of an effortlessness he present's in all he does live. What a show man and I rank him with someone who might have had matching attire and hair at this point in the 70's - Freddie Mercury. 2 RTB icon's - and very very sadly missed by us all. Nice to have moment's like this to look back at and recall the wonderful magical time's. The first big LIKE and thank you.Brett a loni Baz ill ica ???
