Wow! Every time I see and hear Anita Carter singing,I can't help but think,what a true talent and REALLY gifted voice,she had and I also can't help but wonder,how she got passed over as an amazingly talented singer;very underrated and how she was not more famous,than she was! Like I say,Country Music's loss.For the one asking,the last song is called Lonesome Valley!

I just watched an interview with Helen, and Anita telling she loved singing with her family more than having a very strong ambition for a solo career. However, she had a record contract and several solo hits.

I have done, but if these ladies didn't deserve induction while they were alive, I can't imagine anyone else having been worthy of that right either. It really is a disgrace.

52 years ago? You're saying that the Carter family has been making music since 1927? I had no idea!! I just think the best of June. Next to Jesus Christ, she was, in my opinion, the best thing that happened to Johnny Cash. Without her, he might've been lost.

What is the title of the second song ? It's so magnific !
@skydiverclassc20314 жыл бұрын
It's normally the chorus to a Billy Ed Wheeler song called The Reverend Mr. Black. I hadn't heard that verse before, so it might also be part of another song.

Is that mushroom symbology at the end? Also are they saying the lonesome valley is your own life?
@flautalee30903 жыл бұрын
I think “lonesome valley” is a reference to Psalm 23. That in the end we travel that road by ourselves, alone.

Kind of odd that carlene Carter wasn't on stage. She was the most successful of the 3rd generation of carters
@direfranchement4 жыл бұрын
Not really odd considering that she didn't really start performing with the sisters regularly until the 1980s and this performance appears to be from the 1970s.

Where was Roseanne Cash?
@thomasostman85895 жыл бұрын
Roseanne cash is no carter.shes from johnnys first marriage.
@flautalee30903 жыл бұрын
Respectfully, Roseanne Cash’s maiden name was Cash. She has every right to call herself Roseanne Cash as her stage name. But she is not descended from one of the Carter daughters. Perhaps RC was doing a performance elsewhere or the producers of the show wanted to highlight only the “Carter” 3rd generation. Both June and Johnny referred to the 6 daughters they had as “their” daughters. 1 son, John Carter Cash. He would have been about 10 then. He could’ve been there but wasn’t.
