Want to know how to make your vote matter? Vote third party. If you live in a red state and know someone blue will not win there, if you think someone like RFK can win there and voted for him instead. You could take those electoral college votes away from the red.

Also a lesson on why the electoral college is even a thing is because smaller state would have never agreed to join the USA without equal representation. If the biggest state always decided the election they would have no reason to vote and would also eventually rebel. You should feel proud that a 300 year old document was made so well that 44,000 votes is all that separates the winner and loser when both parties are so corrupt and have so much more money to influence the media in their favor. Ending voting for the 2 party system I think will have to come first otherwise those representatives have no reason to vote any other way that would take away the power both parties share. I live in red state Missouri. I've stood in line for over 5 hours to vote for Obama in 2008. I live in a predominantly black neighborhood in St Louis. Missouri (always a bellwether state) electoral college votes went against Obama. It happened again 2012. Biden received over 7 million votes more than the Mango Mussolini. trump will NOT get the majority of the votes in 2024 but he could still win the election.

From listening to RFK Jr. I have gained a passion that I have never had for this Nation, the way he speaks and wants to bring people together by focusing on our similarities versus are disagreements is truly commendable and inspiring. You said that his father would never have supported what his son is saying today, but RFK Jr. is focusing on the topics that are effecting us today and offering solutions for the people just as his father did back in his time. The unfortunate reality is that what RFK Senior fought for in the 1960s, the issues he stood and died for, are just as (if not more) important now as they were then. Inequality, the inability to unionize, racism, and more were issues RFK Senior believed in deeply, and they all remain issues or have become greater issues since his passing. The simple fact of the matter is that RFK Junior seems to have no interest in helping you, nor in helping the average American. The only choice for the average person ought to be Biden, who is the only nominee in the race that has expressed (and proven) interest in repairing this broken economy, in breaking our suffocating monopolies, and in bringing the common man up. But if I parse what he is actually saying I understand the point he is making, although I don’t agree or think what he actually is hoping for is possible. Which is the case for a lot of the issues I see people criticize him for being conspiratorial. Like all good conspiracy theories there is 95% truth and 5% leap of faith. If the democrats actually had a candidate that was worth voting for (as opposed to voting against the other guy), then we wouldn’t even be having this discussion. So in the absence of good options, I’m stuck trying to reason through policy goals. Which candidate, irrespective of any flawed reasoning or flawed whatever, will produce the policy outcomes that most align with my hoped for outcomes. This is the only thing I mean when I say I’m open to being swayed. So if someone wants to convince people RFK jr is a bad choice, criticize the policies he would likely try to push through and explain how they will lead to a worse outcome, or explain how the policies of their preferred candidate would lead to a better outcome in contrast. That is all I’m saying, if you or whoever else truly wants to convince the people that are listening to RFK jr talk for hours on issues that he would focus on in his presidency, criticize what he is actually saying in those discussions. Because I can tell you that characterizing him as a “nut case” does not align with the experience of people that are actually listening to those discussions. And though I didn’t vote for Trump so this assessment may be wrong, but I would argue this is the reason Trump was elected, the argument against him was Trump as a person has shitty character, which I’m sure even a large portion of the people who voted for him also knew to be true, but they were voting for his policies irrespective of those flaws. I also understand that some people just want to yell into the void in frustration, in which case feel free to ignore what I just said.

If you look closer at the claims whizzing by in this video, they do not hold up to scrutiny. For instance: RFK Jr has explained that he was referring to a 2021 study that said that covid affected different races differently. And he is not against all vaccinations for all children, in this clip he was talking about that we should not give the covid vaccine to babies/toddlers (which he was 100% correct in). As an old traditional Dem supporter, I used to like Robert Reich. Sad to see that he has turned into a misinformed attack dog for a desperate party. The Dems truly - and sadly - have lost their way over the years, they have failed in so many areas to safeguard America's future (as has the GOP). I'm embarrassed to say that recently, in a moment of mental weakness I can't fully explain, I started to sign a petition to put "an independent candidate" on the Texas Presidential ballot, without asking who that candidate would be. When another party approached the table and asked who, and the lady at the table said it was RFK Jr, I immediately started scribbling out everything I'd written. I was mortified that I'd been so trusting. The lady said, "Oh... you don't like him?" And I said, "No, he's an antivaxxer crackpot," and scurried away. When I came back by a couple of hours later she was gone. I'd love to think that having someone bring that up around other potential signers had something to do with that. But all I can say is thank you to the random person who asked the obvious question. I was never great at finding the obvious.

Perhaps, though I have seen wider context on some of these comments, and they may still be objectionable, but the full context in my experience very often shows how the speaker might have been in the wrong but not completely unhinged. And the specific anecdote about vaccines leaves out the extensive discussions he's had about him being vaccinated and believing everyone should have access to vaccines, but that the testing and safety research should be improved to mitigate negative health affects. None of this is controversial or wrong, but the way it's being presented is certainly meant to paint a very distorted version of reality
