Prime Westbrook was the best possible player to have on a bad team. He was never going to lead any teams to any championships, but if a team is rebuilding and going for the lottery. Then Westbrook will make that team more fun to watch than anyone else in the NBA.

@@mitchtherevolution that team also wouldnt make the lottery because russ would take them to the playoffs. That thunder team was horribly built around westbrook and KD even said himself he left the thunder bc they had no shooters. sa good team around 2017 westbrook mightve seen a different outcome

@@breyer6560 OKC making the playoffs with just Russ is due to bad front office decision making. That is completely different than Westbrook's ability to make a bad team very entertaining to watch.

Russ stayed and that's about all that needs to be said about why he is a greater Thunder than KD. I think a lot of what being a franchise goat means is having loyalty to your team. I think KD is a better player, but their accomplishments/team impact on the Thunder is pretty comparable, especially since so much of their history is intertwined.

I'm sorry but its KD. Sure he's a snake but he still put the franchise on the map. He got the OKC their first finals appearance and first mvp. And if you asked anybody to name the a OKC player the first name they would say would be KD. (Or sga but that's recency bias)

Beings that KD left OKC back in 2016, *7 years ago 😳* I’m pretty sure people would name Russ as the prominent OKC player. I understand KD’s greatness and at the time he was absolutely the best player in Thunder history, but Russ has done way more for the city considering he also helped lead them to the finals, won MVP (more historically relevant as well) more all stars, more fans, more highlights, etc. It sucks Russ couldn’t help get us over the hump but I don’t know any Thunder fans that claim KD as the greatest Thunder player ever
