The case of the spray pump that wouldn't spray

My fix for a spray pump that didn't work. I was puzzled by the failure of the spray pump to spray. No, it wasn't the small hole getting clogged. No, it didn't need to be primed. The fix was to reseat the suction tube firmly because a crack has developed at the tube housing and allowing air to escape. Pushing the suction tube up firmly did the trick, for now, anyway.

Dude! I didnt realize the tube moved up and down with the trigger. Sprayer but if you’re using antibacterial, cleaners or bleach, or you know, mold, and mildew remover’s, how in the hell would the thing get clogged? I always assumed that the chemicals in the sprayer had deteriorated apart inside of the sprayer..

See if you can unplug nozzle from another spray can with a similar nozzle design and temporarily use it on your WD 40. Just be careful where you point your can when you spray.

Didn't work for me how I put it. The spray went from spray to just a weak coughing spout and then airlock eventually. I broke the airlock but then it still stuck on the coughing spout kinda weak spray.

There's a vacuum leak somewhere to cause the weak spray. When there's an air leak, it might work initially with a priming of the spay tube but when the air gets in and the liquid in the tube is drained, it will cough and eventually not work. Thanks for commenting.

Aha, Aristotles 27th ancient paradox, what came first, the pump or the spray? You may have just solved this dilemma that has been perplexing our civilization for thousands of years. For your next video, please can you show us how rechargeable batteries can be recharged via a battery charger that doesn't work as it's batteries have discharged.

They can certainly make a charger to do that. The problem is over discharged battery can be damaged, rendering it not completely safe for further use. Such batteries can be brought back to life under certain circumstances.

As long as the tube is filled with liquid, it will work. If there is only air in the tube, it won't spray well or at all.

I'm posting this hoping someone can help.... the issue with my sprayer is not a crack like shown in this video... the part in the nozzle that is supposed to be pushed in when I squeeze the handle doesn't have the connection to the handle part any more (this connection seems to be maintained by some sort of tension that seems to be gone).... this is not a question of "priming the pump"-- and the style of this sprayer is such that it's difficult to take it apart. Any suggestions from someone who may have figured out how to fix this issue? Thanks in advance.

I had a deoderant spritzer, unscrewed the top cap with a hole, then soaked it in warm water and pumped it in warm water. After 10 seconds it started pumping again.

The real solution to this problem is you go to your storage and kitchen and search for old, almost empty cleaning sprays and just throw them out and use the spray head instead.

Prisya Alah Tarifhk The spring inside the spray head where you adjust from shut off to spray is sticking closed on mine. I concluded that when you tighten to OFF, it stays off and this requires pulling out the plastic inserted component under the dial OFF/SPRAY and dicking around with the end of the spring so that it opens when SPRAY is selected. It works temporarily on the piece of junk I bought at Dollar Store for $1. But anyway, that is your next possible reason why your spray bottle doesn’t work.
