I'm looking at building my own casket. I love your compassion. I was a florist for many years. Delivering the family the last expression of love for their loved one, is the greatest honor and a blessing.

My sister started a program for families who have had a miscarriage. It is true that miscarriages are often treated as disposable waste. She talked to the local hospital, which is just up the street. We started collecting white child shoe boxes. My sister would see a gown for the baby and create a mattress to place in the bottom. The outside of the box is covered with padding and then cloth and everything including a pillow is glued into place. A small blanket is provided to cover the baby. Parents are offered the choice to use the service at no charge. If there’s a lot of requests a group of us will get together and make a number of them so that they are always available when needed.

Thank you for sharing your experiences with us. I have been that one person within my large family that feels the heritage of our family beyond this life. They say that the oldest son belong to the Lord. And that is something I try hard to live. Grief I’d personal, I have never seen two people go though even the same death in a similar manner. At 67 having severe heart disease, I have decided to prearranged my funeral and even customize my own casket. I want my family to see that I am honoring the memory of our grandparents, parents, two brothers and now a sister that have preceded us in death. I hope that they receive my intentions in love and appreciate the brevity of this life and the importance of our life to come. I wish I had seen this video before started this project, it has been hard to hide a casket in my house. I have honestly enjoy this project and might make another casket from scratch, even if it’s just for a viewing or service before a cremation. I want my family to know they are loved by me.❤

Just found your video. Yes, funeral home doors close to any one cutting into their profits. The funeral homes buy China made caskets for a few hundred dollars and sell them to the grieving families for thousands. I know, I build coffins also.
