Rodgers and Hammerstein's 'Cinderella', a television adaptation of the classic fairy tale, first aired in 1957. But until this year, the songwriting duo's take on the story of the glass slipper has never been on Broadway.

it's a choice, probably not a necessity. just because you CAN sing a note a cetain way doesnt always make it appropriate, I am a tenor and have sung notes below middle C placed in head for the effect. You sound like you have quite a bit to learn, my young friend.

His vowel oooo is not pure. He'd get more voice in that sound if he pronounced you, true with a pure sound, Now he's doing it in back of his throat. And it's not becuz, it's because. American diction has gotten so sloppy, it's crept into classic songs like this.
