Yes! After I gave birth to my baby on December 20, 2022, I would watch Family Matters from the beginning to the end during my postpartum weeks. Those late night and early morning feedings I’d go to the living room, turn on all the lights (to help keep me awake) and turn in Family Matters. Something so comforting especially so close to Christmas 😊. I get all warm and fuzzy inside when I think about that time.

Love this show but we all know that show would have gotten canceled it's 2nd season but that character Urkel played by Jaleel White saved that show and they did 9 seasons so he made a lot of people money and that network money. He alone saved that show.

Jaleel saved that show….I recently rewatched the first season and prior to Steve Urkel that show was boring and 80% of the plots were already done a dozen times on other family sitcoms. The show was nearly cancelled until a guest character they only planned to appear once captivated audiences and boosted the ratings through the roof after he became a regular cast member.

My husband and I still watch the show. No matter how many times we have seen it. I have grown up from childhood into adulthood with several family- oriented series that I would love my grandchildren to know and love the same. We do not watch television today. It is so sad that t.v. and music do not portray the same level of love, forgiveness, grace, and more. No the show was not perfect from the way Urkel and Eddie were treated; however, no one is.

If it was Jo Marie’s show, then how come Reggie was billed first? On “Cheers,” Ted Danson and Shelly Long shared top billing, due to bruised egos. But Jo Marie didn’t seem to have that issue with Reggie who, unlike Ted, was not entitled to equal billing. Was it because the man is the head of the household and the wife gets his surname after the “I do’s”? I’m confused, because Roseanne Barr was billed before John Goodman. Yes, I know that her name was in the title, but “Family Matters” was technically Jo Marie’s show as well. What’s her deal with blowing up at Jaleel and not Reggie?

Lol that's true. I don't buy what she said about Jaleel. She knew good and well she didn't like how Jaleel was more talented than her and that the audience enjoyed his character more than the rest. She was jealous how he took over the show that was supposed to be hers. Family Matters was supposed to be her show, Jaleel came into the picture, audience loved him more than the rest including Harriet, the producers decided to change it from being about her and the family to being about Steve because that's what sold and that's what the audience wanted. She was do jealous, she held a Grunge against him. No wonder there was no episode of Steve and Harriet together, or that Jaleel is never in any Family Matters reunion or chats with the cast members except Kellie, Darius, Bryton and Tammy.
