This is made in collaboration with Supermassive games, who are known to be behind “Until Dawn”, “The Quarry”, and “The Dark Pictures Anthology”. I dont think they can story wise. Because if this is the killer that started the chain of events of DBD and current trials. His role is kind of critical to the timeline. If we play him as good, then the Fog wouldnt exist, ie trials we have in base game. And if we do play him, we'd get the illusion of choice. Which would be shitty gameplay, but narrative wise would show that whatever we do, it is inevitable that the Entity wins So I can see why playing as the 4 survivors would make more sense. Tho I'd love to be wrong

There’s a lot of symbolism in the name “The Casting Of Frank Stone” Frank Stoke being some form of character. Casting either being casted by the entity for what we know as “The Trials” or casting in terms of being shaped or molded by the entity. As well as casting and stone in the title could imply the saying “Casting the first stone” so this may very well be some form of beginning to the story we know, this may have been where the first stone of our story is casted.

Some hunches I have about this game 1. This could possibly be the first killer that arrived in The Entities realm and tells the story about how he got there before being tossed into The Void 2. The screams in the background are most likely the four main characters being held captive by said killer who at some point during the game manage to escape and you have to help them make it out alive. 3. The Entity's full physical form is seen for the first time, that being a gigantic spider. While it is said that the realm itself IS The Entity (ex. Trees, Birds, pallets etc) on the official DBD wiki it states that The Entities most preferred form is that of a Spider, resembling something from Stephen Kings IT. 4. It's my strong hunch that whoever it is that is supposed to canonically survive the game will most likely show up as a future survivor in the core game. All in all I'm really excited for this game, can't wait to get my hands on it. Edit: When I was looking at the steam page for the game, I also noticed a pharmaceutical store that had "Afterpiece Tonic" on it, so we'll probably get to meet a younger version of The Clown at some point? Or maybe a close relative that refers to him. Edit 2: Did some thinking and I believe that we will experience the 4 main characters get taken by The Entity, which will result in them encountering Frank Stone and we will experience a full trial in a more cinematic perspective. This would explain why his workbench is covered in nature by the time the others show up. So before that happens, it’s really more so getting to know the towns history and the scars Frank left behind.

The entity can not force you to do anything outside its realm ( in the real world ) . It can only follow you through the course of your life in the shadows , wishper in your ear and try to manipulate you to do bad things , but not force you . This game takes place in the real world , before the entity takes them to the realm of dbd , so the killer most probably has his own personal reasons for doing what he does .

I like how there is a glint of light in Frank's eyes, that there is a hint of humanity in him. Usually, people make sure that there is no light glinting in the eye of an evil character, to show that there is no life or soul in them. For anyone wondering what the gameplay and chase sequences will be like: Most of the game is cutscenes where you make choices that determine events that happen and who lives/dies. All action sequences during the game are also cutscenes with things like "Quick Time Events". For example, if you had to jump over a pallet to escape the killer in the game a buttom would appear on the screen. If you press the button before it vanishes you jump over the pallet, if you don't then the character is either permenantly dead or lives through luck somehow. The rest of the gameplay while not being chased will basically be 3rd person and you will just walk around through areas finding clues and trying to escape. My theory rn is that this is gonna be the backstory of how the entity takes people and what it does to them. I think that it was very intentional that frank is shown when the lyrics say "oh i love it and I hate it at the same time, hiding all of our sins from the daylight", I think he's being forced to do stuff like unwillingly killing people because the entity makes him do so. He doesn't seem to be very happy at the end or like he's enjoying this. I hope it goes into the psyche of him, imagine being forced to kill people and being called a serial killer and a monster by other people, but you're being forced to do it, that'd be fucked. I also think that the survivors we see are the original 4 survivors parents, dwights dad, claudettes father, megs mother, jake's mother, and they're probably investigating their kids disappearances (they were seen watching the tape showing maybe a documentary or something about the mines where frank maybe killed some people) so they went there to investigate as shown in the trailer.

It seems very intentional that frank is shown when the song goes "oh i love it and i hate it at the same time, hiding all of my sins from the daylight" im gonna assume he of course is taken unwillingly by the entity and has to do its bidding and kill people, he clearly does not seem happy, he even seems a bit sad at the end where hes just staring. People may not realize but this is HUGE actually 😳😳 I remember when DBD came in 2016, Until Dawn was quite popular game in horror genre (infact 1 of the best) to the point i feel DBD took some inspiration & similarities in art & lore from that game. It might only be 2 of the survivors though with the other 2 as main skins, There are usually about 2 "Main Characters" in these types of games. Theory- The main characters of this game/experience will be the lost survivors {excluding Steve and Nancy cuz they in ST} who the entity picked up to play with. Maybe the Frank Stone Mill was an old map idea and maybe the survivors were pulled into the realm in such a way that they did not realize that they were pulled by the Entity. However, since Frank was a mentally broken killer who knew way too much about the Entity....maybe it either sent them back with their memories wiped or just strait up swiped them out of existence, leaving only their perks and the few syllables of their names. Was thinking since this is in Oregon and the MacMillan Estate is based in Washington state (two states that are very close together), maybe the two steel mines were either business partners or rivals, and the closing of the MacMillan Estate brought the Cedar Estate more wealth (Could be less, gonna guess more) because they were now one of the only premium steel Mills in that area of the US. So now they can charge more and bribe people with newfound wealth to make sure they stay the only steel mill. But I'm thinking, here's the difference between this guy and The Trapper. The Trapper was a brutal ruthless man, but why was he? Because he was betrayed by the workers, and the only support network he had was his father, an abusive, crazy villain of a man. So he turned to that, and when his father said I'm proud of you (perhaps for the first time ever), he leaned into that man. Whereas you could have Frank Stone be the opposite, he was brought up under his father, a well to do man who, though wasn't afraid to make hard decisions, would often sacrifice business for decency. Meanwhile, Frank Stone is going through the history of steel mills in his and neighbouring states so he can get into the family business, but while he is researching, he comes across the MacMillan Estate history and is absolutely enthralled by it all, Archie, Evan, the strikes, he loves it, and while his father has had a positive impact on him, he was still brought up as the kid of the one of the biggest steel mill owners in the country, and so, maybe got bullied a little, but could always rely on money to bail him out or bribe people. When his father called on him to be by his side as father and son businessmen, the steelmill under Frank Stone did to a certain extent flourish under his control, just like it did under the MacMillans. But, he had also read of the cruelty of the MacMillans, and when his first strike happened at the Cedar Estate, he lost control, Evan MacMillan his whole life never had control until he became his father's right hand and enforcer, when he fully became involved in the company, whereas Frank Stone always had control over everything, so the moment that he loses that control, he doesn't know what to do, he almost runs the mill into the ground, but remembering the MacMillan cruelty, brutality and efficiency when putting down the strikes, he surprises (and perhaps even scares) a lot of people, including his father, for a second, it was almost like Archie was back. Even if only for a second. Archie was back. And so because of this, he turned to MacMillan methods, and he began to use the MacMillan Estate attitude and history as almost a playbook for his troubles. At first, he was obsessed with Archie, but soon, he began to look into the shadows of Archie, and there he saw his son, a good man, who became even more ruthless than Archie. A man who committed one of the worst mass murders in American history. Evan MacMillan. He became obsessed, almost enamoured with his story, and almost felt like he was a MacMillan reincarnated, that's the family he belonged to. Frank may have been hard as Stone. But he felt as if he was really a MacMillan. He felt angered that the MacMillans were no longer around, that he couldn't meet them. (Could also have it where he meets some MacMillans, but their just normal people and he's disappointed.) Frank became more and more obsessed with MacMillan history to the point that sometimes he wouldn't eat or drink. His only hunger was for knowledge. His only thirst. Was power. And so, by using the ways of the MacMillans, Frank Stone became day by day, a little more like them. To the point where his history of them and himself became blurred. In the modern day, we'd have said his mental health was suffering, but back then? No such thing was known. He began to lose his mind, and he began to lose himself. He began to see himself as the strongest, he needed to cleanse the weak. So, the timeline, this is what I think: First, a real quick recap on The Trapper. The Trapper was likely born around 1896 and was taken in about 1936. Some key events were likely a strike in about 1919 that he brutally suppressed. This is the moment historians would claim Evan truly and concretely became his father's enforcer. Then the mass murder and him being taken happened in approximately 1936. We don't know if he served in WW1. He could've, but due to wealth, he quite easily could have skipped out. Ok, now on to Frank Stones timeline breaking down the objects in the trailer: 1. The film reel: The film reel shown in the trailer was developed in 1932. But, the reel was also (though dampened) in colour, and there was red during the transition phase to the actual footage. Though colour cartoons were around since about 1932, what we're seeing is live action, real life footage, and that wasn't really released for home use like it seems in the trailer till later, so now we're talking 1935-1936. Then, more modern versions came out in the 40s, though these reels only really became popular in the early 1950s. As reels that captured real life were far, far too expensive for the average person to own until at least 1950, even than, it was quite pricy. And most people only saw colour when going to the movies, and it wasn't guaranteed. But, Frank Stone, if going by common belief that it was him or his family that owned a steel mill. Then, the price would be less of an issue. 2. The clothes of the people: The clothes of the people would indicate, at least to me, sometime in the 60s+. 3. The flashlights/torches: The torches look to be from about minimum, the 1950s to about maximum the 1980s. If you look at an average flashlight from the 1950s to the 1980s, they look about the same. During this time, flashlights were often silver coloured and shaped quite similar. Before the 1950s, flashlights were quite different, most of the time in appearance and often colour, they moreso included the colour bronze too. Whereas most modern flashlights from about the 90s onwards look almost tactical and mostly found in black. 4. Frank Stone's Welding helmet: This Welding Helmet seems to be from the 50s. 5. One of the pictures separate to the trailer shows a car that's seems to be from the 70s-80s 6. A newspaper separate from the trailer shows victims were going missing as early as 1962. So, if we look at this, we can probably say that it takes place 1965-1985, so let's say 1975. I could, of course, be wrong on this date. But from just what's shown, this is what I'd estimate. Let's say the steel mill was shut down in 1959 (let's round it up to 1960). Then that's about 15 years for it to get that abandoned look. And who's to say it wasn't abandoned in 1950 or 1951 instead of the late 50s? That then gives it 15 years to look abandoned until 1965. But, I'd say the mine/steel mill shut down in the late 50s to very early 60s, and I'd place the people investigating to be from around 1975-1980. That also gives Frank Stone room to work with where he could reasonably look back to MacMillan history in the 30s. But also, some people are alive and remember working with the MacMillans and for the Cedar Estate to grow. It's also enough time for the people in the trailer to investigate and for the mill to look abandoned.

So, detail that I kind of love here and that I'm really hoping will be notable in the game itself when it comes out, that knife we get the closeups on looks a lot like it started out as a file and then got sharpened down to being a knife. The texture on both the top and bottom of the blade as well as the part of the handle that we see are what make me figure this, plus it ties in with the jagged "teeth" on the mask seeming to be a deliberate thing that Frank Stone crafted into the mask to make himself more monstrous. Combined with that book on his work table, it might be possible that he did everything he could to make himself an attractive target for the Entity, either as a killer so that he could do more and more murders forever or, possibly, as a killer with the intention of trying to take someone back from the Entity.

My theory is that the man in the beginning is Vigo and not Frank Stone because, Frank has orange hair as seen in the end of the trailer and that's really all the evidence I can provide however. I think Vigo was the one talking in the start about how something is too dangerous. Also, I think in the beginning Vigo is the one speaking about how something is too dangerous. I think it takes place after Vigo escaped the entities' realm and the reason he is arming himself is because he knows the entity will come for him and Frank Stone is the one that the entity sent after Vigo. Since Vigo studied the entity a whole lot I feel that the journal with a sketch of the entity is Vigo's journal and that journal holds all the knowledge and contraptions against the entity and Frank Stone was sent to capture Vigo but not kill him. In the time that Frank Stone captured Vigo, Frank made a sacrificial hook to sacrifice Vigo's soul to the entity and the part where the entity is descending out of the sky is when the entity comes to collect Vigo's soul. Whilst Frank remains to dispose and erase all traces of Vigo and his studies whilst the 4 people seen going into the tunnels beneath the sewer could possibly be related to Vigo in some way. When who I assume to be Vigo is talking in the beginning, it sounds to me like he's talking over a radio and he's communicating to the 4 people about how Frank is coming for him and when Vigo says something about it being dangerous that's him warning them that it isn't anything to mess around over and Vigo spent his final moments trying to tell them about what's about to happen and if they could potentially save his life and his studies from being destroyed so the world is able to fight back against the entity. That is all I would like to share and I feel like I am very much onto something in some aspect. Sorry if my writing is a little hard to read or understand, I didn't really put much effort into writing this.
