Larry, that’s a wood pile… the brush is just a garnishment on the top… kinda like parsley! If I was a few years younger and didn’t already have 5 dump truck loads of logs to deal with… I’d buzz those logs up and get them to the mill. The black jack didn’t look like it had much lumber but those black oaks and white oaks looked premium. I harvested a black oak log from a fence row several years ago. The lumber above the fence had a lot of staining and Wild figure in it. I made a bedroom suite out of it. Just wish I had photos… they were lost in a computer crash! Nice job all the way around… leaving the fence post was a nice finishing touch!!!

Thanks Dave! Yeah, I hate piling up those big ole trees like that. Lots of waist there but hopefully someone will come along and cut the wood out of them. I normally have a logger that I work with come and cut trees like this. However, with the wire growing into them like that he won’t sacrifice his saws (don’t blame him). I thought about cutting logs above the wire and having them sawed for trailer floors. But shoot, I had a couple post oaks cut for floors going on three years ago and still have put them on the trailers yet.🤦‍♂️. The termites might of ate them up by now.

Well sir, I see you have an audience again, I swear, cattle have more curiosity than a cats, they seem to have come outta nowhere. That 953 has got some power that’s for sure, but the operator makes the power work, I’ve witnessed machines with good power to be virtually worthless because the operator couldn’t use it to his advantage, and conversely I’ve seen good operators, such as yourself, do some amazing work with underpowered machines. Good machines coupled with good operators, that’s what makes it happen. The ground has to nearly rock hard for the tracks to break loose like they were on concrete.thanks for the ride along sir, good content.

I agree. But, our ground down south here can turn into concrete and won’t let the trees go sometimes and they’ll break off. Then, that sucks trying to dig a stump out like I had to a couple videos ago. Thanks buddy!

I hate seeing fence line trees taken down - they provide shade for the cows and act as a wind break and support small game and song birds. We used to hunt the fence rows for rabbit and pheasant to put food on the table. Not to mention that trees pull carcon dioxide out of the air and generate oxygen. Don't farmers understand the benefits?

I hate it too! But, he is a cattle farmer and the new fences are to help improve his herd/income and to make sure the cattle didn't get out onto the highway. He's not one to just randomly clear out the trees, he understands how they provide shade (and he needs that), but he needed that security. Thanks Jeff!

Yeah, we tried to get someone to come out and cut them for firewood but they wouldn't. As far as logs go, most all of them had wire grown into them and my normal logger wouldn't cut them because of that. I hate pushing big oaks into a pile but had no choice. If they didn't have wire in them I would of had him come out and cut the logs out like he normally does.
