I like much of the older Southern Gospel. I find some of today's SG too, what I call syrupy. In listening to quite a bit of SG, the older SG wasn't syrupy or watered down. It hit the nail on the head and preached the Gospel of Christ Jesus. Just my $ 0.02 worth.

IMO, the 1980's was the "golden age" of SoGo

The Eternal re-release was also made part of a 4-record boxed set they marketed without jackets at some of their concerts -- probably also during the '70s. It was a great group

I have the same cover that you have for your album, but I did not know it was not the original. Can anyone tell me where I can research this album cover to find out who is on it?

This recording was made with the original lineup of George Younce, Glen Payne, Danny Koker, and Bobby Clark in 1966. However, it was re-released around 1971 with two different covers. One just had a music note image, and the other had a picture of the 1972 lineup although they were not the ones on the album. If you want to see all three covers, check out the Cathedral Quartet Discography at www.sghistory.com

Sure would like to know who is singing High Tenor and Baritone, and especially, who is playing the piano. He's Got the Whole World in His Hands Peace in the Valley I Want to Know Let Me Stand Where No One Stands Alone Lead Me to That Rock, That Is Higher Than I How Long Has It Been Footprints of Jesus Gonna Open Up All My Doors Let's Go to Church Next Sunday Morning No Disappointments in Heaven He Bought My Soul Through Death at Calvary I've Been to Heaven In a Dream🥰

Bobby Clark is the tenor, and Danny Koker is singing baritone and playing piano (though he and Glen Payne, lead singer, often crossed parts)
