WOW!!!!!!!!!!!!! Absolutely the pinnacle of Southern Gospel quartet singing! The perfect song - sung by the perfect tenor singer - and backed up vocally by the perfect quartet! Thank you, gentlemen, for burning your music deep within my heart. Southern Gospel will never be the same without you - you are greatly missed!

Mark Trammel - baritone- has given the Cathedrals the greatest depth ever. His clarity of voice and range is unmatched among baritones. He is also one of the most humble singers I've seen
@kevinmiller60093 жыл бұрын
I agree completely regarding Mark's humility. Mark Trammell is my 5 yo son's favorite singer based on the song "Master Builder." At a recent MTQ concert (POST COVID!!) Mark held him for a photo. That photo is now framed in Joel's room. It was a special moment between a boy and his hero.

Danny is the best tenor the Cats ever had, in a class by himself. He is a very humble man. It is never about Danny.... it is always about the message of our hope in Christ. That is what makes Danny Funderburke so special and the very best.

I love to hear Danny Funderburk sing , period. God put His Hand on this man. This one and Somebody Touched Me flat out makes me cry every time. It is that beautiful! We grew up singing like this throughout the 70's, 80's and 90's. And every 4th Sunday, we would gather at the "Home Place", my dad's childhood home, to sing Gospel 4 part harmonies. Now at 55, I can't believe how l didn't realize what a blessing it was. God blessed us when He put The Cathedrals together.

Best. Group. Ever. I have such wonderful memories of growing up with this music, of listening to their cassettes/records, of going to see them in concert at the Temple Theatre in Meridian, MS. The only music they had most nights were Roger's piano and Mark's, and that was all they needed. This video show's Danny in his unbeatable prime, at the height of his vocal powers. George Younce will never be equaled at his position.. One of the best singers period. Glen was a class act, and Mark could sing any part on the stage in Gran's fashion.

Tenors like Danny Funderburk and Brian Free are living proof that you don't have to sing way up into the soprano range to sound great. Both of these tenors are legends!

Every minute I spent with them was heartwarming and inspiring. They will always have a place in my heart and I cherish every moment we shared together. I love this music, but since becoming an atheist the words of the songs just don’t resonate with me anymore. But I still love to sing George’s part! I remember in college fall of 95 at Cedarville University, college in those days, a friend of mine in glee club asked me if I wanted to see the Cathedrals in Dayton at the Memorial Auditorium. I exclaimed “who are the cathedrals?” He looked at me like I had two heads. But it just took that one night of seeing them in concert and I was hooked. I especially loved George, which I’ve come to find out is not unusual. Then about four years later I had the opportunity to shake his hand at a Gaither concert. He greeted me as if I was an old friend! I remember not wanting to wash my hand for a while. He truly was and is my hero!

@ronaldshank75896 жыл бұрын
Whosoever will, let him come and drink of the water of life freely. I'm glad for that promise, and that Jesus is the water of life that we can drink from. The Samaritan woman at the well drank from his water, and then ran back into Samaria, telling her friends "He told me everything that I ever did! Is not this the Christ"? I can only imagine how she was rejoicing in her spirit, having been set free from a lifetime of sin. She now had Jesus within! Think also of the man that dwelt among the dead. Chains had been put on him, possibly time after time. He was so demon possessed, however, that he snapped the chains. But he could never break the chains of sin that held him bound on the inside. Then, Jesus stepped into this man's life, set him free from the legion of demons that were possessing him, and when everything was said and done, the man was clothed, and in his right mind, and wanting to become a disciple of Jesus, and travel with him! Jesus told him no, but then gave him an assignment that was right up that man's alley:"Go, and tell everybody what great things that God has done for you". The man, too, had taken of the water of life freely, and found that water to be bubbling up within him that would overflow on to everybody that would listen to his testimony, and receive Jesus Christ as their own personal Savior and Lord! That can happen to anybody that will say yes to God, and goodbye to sin! I'm glad for that promise!

Whosoever will may come to Jesus, whosoever will may come. That's the promise He gave us, when He died to save us, That whosoever will may come. My Jesus is a loving Saviour, Who gave up his life for me That forever and ever man could be set free That whosoever will may come. The love of a child for its mother, Is a love that I can understand, But the love of my Saviour is so vast yet oh so real That whosoever may come. Whosoever will may come to Jesus, whosoever will may come. That's the promise He gave us, when He died to save us, That whosoever will may come.

When I was a kid, we used to sing the old Phillip P. Bliss hymn, "Whosoever Will" (not the same song as this) in church. As a 5-year-old lad, I wondered who "Whosoever Will" was...I figured he was a cowboy character, like Hopalong Cassidy, Hoot Gibson or Gabby Hayes.
