I'm hindu myself. Yoga developed alongside our civilisation which is hindu. Yoga chantings are 'Om' again hindu as well. So when you exercise yoga you do embrace its hindu roots, but again, to its core its our form of exercise. Yoga is not a form of practicing the religion itself. So that's why your religion doesn't change if you practice/don't practice yoga.
