Wat een heerlijk nostalgisch gevoel geeft mij dit lied altijd weer en wat een stem en muzikale begeleiding, geweldig! Die jongens waren super serieuze professionals in hun vak, dat zie je ook goed op deze opname. Ik ben van 1950 en de Cats waren op hun hoogtepunt circa eind jaren 60, 70/80 met enorm veel toppers. Leadzanger Piet Veerman met zijn super zuivere en bijzondere stem was voor velen een idool. In die tijd was er veel goede en muziek, die voor altijd blijft hangen in je herinnering, maar de Cats waren en zijn voor mij de absolute top, onvergetelijk!!!

" Scarlet Ribbons..." released in 1969 and still popular in 2023...! The sixties, seventies, eighties... greatest times in music. Big contrast with the current music experience...! My parents immigrated to South Africa after the war 1946. I visited the Netherlands in early 70's and heard their music in a record shop. Bought every LP , liked it so much since then. now 2018, years later and living in Mallorca I play it all the time.....I get tears in my eyes when I think of my long history, love for my parents and their music. I think you have to be a sensitive and passionate person to appreciate the Cats. Their music is very deep.

When I was a kid in the 1970s we had a small radio station. My mother used to play songs and she loved sentimental songs. Her favorite band was the Cat especially Marian and Lea. I used to sleep close to her when she was playing the songs. They are all gone now. It reminds a memory that will never fade away. May Allah bless my mother in the heaven.

I AM! This version literally floats on air. A very majestic and worthy tribute to a hard to beat original song. I can't understand to this very day why both Sire/London and Rare Earth records didn't try harder to promote this song. The strong vocals project a drifting rhythm of their own over the subtle shifting percussion. Love the little tweaking harp throughout. It gives an already multilayered dream another unique hook.
