Welcome to this Native American folktale bedtime story called "The Celestial Sisters" (aka White Hawk) by author Cornelius Mathews from the Indian Fairy Book written in 1869 (notes obtained from the original legends). This folktale is spoken with a soft soothing voice for sleep and also has crackling fire sounds to help enhance your relaxation. The soft storytelling is looped twice (second time a bit slower) to give you time to fall asleep. So get comfy and cozy and snuggle up tight and then allow me to guide you into a restful sound sleep.
Sweet dreamzzz...
Joanne ❤

PLEASE NOTE: I tried very hard to locate an image of a Native American maiden in traditional dress but had a very difficult time finding one (without copyright infringement). Sadly, most of the images (that were of good quality for thumbnail use), were of women wearing a headdress and the women were white! It is appalling that there are not more realistic images of Native American women. I apologize if this image I have chosen may not reflect the beautiful Native American culture. I felt the need to explain this and I mean no disrespect. I love to create thumbnails that are eye catching. This is one of the practices KZbin suggests to help attract viewership. In the mean time, I am actively trying to find an image that may be more accurate. Thank you so much for your patience and understanding. 🙏 Blessings, Joanne

Thank you for offering an explanation! I appreciate it and I appreciate your concern. I agree with your comment. It is truly sad how our Native Americans history has been hid or erased from our history. Thank you for telling stories of this kind! I love listening to you tell them. Good luck finding the right picture.

Hello! I'd like to encourage you to prioritize changing the image to this video as soon as possible. It's a good first step to make the acknowledgement that you did, however, you also made note that you are keeping the image of the white woman up in order to keep up with KZbin's suggestions of attracting viewership. In doing so, you are perpetuating white supremacy culture and using it to your advantage (in profit or increased viewership). Even if you sacrifice views or financial revenue by changing the image, it's worth it to change the image and not be complicit in harmful practices. Thank you for receiving this message.

This story will be told 2x, the second time a bit softer and slower and there are crackling fire sounds to help enhance your relaxation. I hope this post finds you safe and well. Enjoy my friend! I just started looking at your channel. I have a favor to ask of you. It may not seem important to you in any way but I am Native American and the picture of your lady with a headdress on is something we consider insulting. We truly see it as a very important tradition. Very very few women have had earned a headdress. And it comes across as someone making it out to be less then we believe it to be. So I ask that you just remove the picture and try for something not insulting or demeaning to Native Americans. Thank you

I love your voice it's so soothing, I hope this is not rude to ask, but does anyone know of the story of two beautiful princesses who would stare at the moon, so much so that they want to marry the moon? I believe the sister failed the moon's test and fell down, while the other sister didn't open her eyes until told to do so. I read this folk tale when I was little, the book came with a pretty necklace, I would appreciate it if someone knew the name of this story.

Joanne I love you but native women don’t wear headdresses like that. I think this is a white woman anyway. I am a Native person. The war bonnets are only worn by great warriors of our tribes and are usually very elderly as each feather represents a great act done in support of the people. I just wanted to let you know. Love you and have a great night my friend. Keep the stories up please. (This isn’t a critical comment, simply trying to help.)

You are right in that the pictures display war bonnets but to say that they weren’t worn by women Is false. Were women warriors common ? Not exactly but there are a few famous ones and even some that went on to become Chiefs. Women fought and died for their tribes same as men and would of adorned said headwear. I also have Anishinaabe ancestry. We’re getting away from the true point of the video though a relaxing story told with a sweet calming voice. Her depiction had zero ill intent. Peace, Solace, Love and Rest to all ❤️

Well here in Edmonton 95 percent have a bottle in their month. They are on their 7th kid. Grandma has to take care of the kids. Highest percent natives are I'm jail and so on an on. My land was taken over by Austria and I was called a Nazi everyday, plus all the horrible things that go with it. In general every person, country, town, city have some not so nice people and some decent People. In general people are just not very kind, includes everybody, and ME. This world is a joke, especially when I love these stories and read this picked a part comments. Oh my life is fleeting live it. You have to much time on your hands if you had to have done this. It's a know brainer I knew it was not traditional, but anyone with a quarter of their brain left would also know how difficult it is to find a traditional picture wich is allowed. Go back to bed if your on your moon time and then give that poor lady a break. Always go back to school, study other cultures. 🦋🙏♥️Life is too short to keep on picking on tiny bits of nothing. Go forward the past is gone. We just have today! P.S. my best friend is sitting right beside me...lol she is full native, Indian whatever she says those names are both correct in her eyes. She says she is sometimes so embarrassed of her race, she gets so disappointed and shakes her head. Almost everytime we walk past a bundle of natives...not the men but the women she says are saying very cruel racial things about me and we don't even know these people. I don't do that, she also says the men like me and the women are so jealous. This one lady knocked one of her many boyfriends out...lol. So in saying that shut up please and enjoy these beautiful stories. We just have today if we are all blessed with this or it can get taken away. I trust my plants, nature, all animals, including even snails even slugs even though their homeless. Lol. I was homeless then I found my shell eh!🦋😊Feed your good wolf dammit 🙏🙏🙏🙏🦋
