Visit to the market location: Weichuan Town, Kaifeng City, Henan Province
Background: The Weichuan Market, with a history of over 500 years, opens on every 3rd, 6th, and 9th day of the lunar calendar. Each time it opens, it attracts people from all over the province and beyond, including Xuchang, Luohe, Nanyang, and Zhumadian, to drive to the Weichuan Market to appreciate the local culture and customs of ancient Weishui, marvel at the magic of the Ming city gate ‘There are elms in the cypress’, and find inner peace in the City God Temple. The market is filled with delicious foods such as stir-fried vermicelli, lamb stew noodles, rotating oven cakes, dumplings, and traditional tofu… one stall after another. Amidst the heat, the freshness of the lamb, the fragrance of the oil splashed chili, and the garlic fried in the vermicelli intertwine in the air to create a special aroma that opens up the taste buds. This video brilliantly captures the local culture and customs of Henan in Central China, presented in 4K high definition, vividly showcasing the regional food culture.
