The Wurm is definitely my favourite. Having bought one and had a couple of weeks to play with it, i can confirm it can sound exactly like the original. But it’s more flexible and can be used to design your own personal chainsaw character.

So glad I watched this again. I bought one from KMA just before Xmas and the dog ate the user guide. I love the pedal and want to try it out on some different heads, as I feel it will react really well to being in front of a raging 100W set up.

Just bought the Wurm, and despite never having dabbled in chainsaw before, I instantly got the meanest guitar sound I've ever had. As Dome says, the controls on this one are actually usable.

As I own one I can say that they affect the tone drastically. Best to loop a riff through the pedal and play away with the trim pots. The instructions from KMA give you some great tips on the bandwidth of each pot too

brtzlfx good to hear! Happy that I found your channel, big fan of he Swedish sound but not many seem to be doing that. Personally I like the more modern melodic stuff involving Rectifiers and similar amps but the EQ of the HM-2 I dig.

@deanbootlegguitarist90005 жыл бұрын
Hey maite, dean here from Malaysia. I has a question on the pedal settings. I have a behringer hm300, so I watched a lot of KZbinrs saying all knobs max on clean while some say dist knob is just a bit on a distorted amp while all the knobs dimed. Thus which is which?
@DomeNightbearer5 жыл бұрын
Hi Dean, I personally prefer dist knob just a bit through the distortion channel of my amp, but both ways work. I'm working on exactly this subject for another video, so be sure to check this out, too. Regarding the hm300: just turn the mid knob a tad down to get a more similar hm2 sound. I also reviewed the hm300!

@@DomeNightbearer : have you been able to test the KMA and the HM-2+KMA combined EQ modes on the Wurm? Would be interesting to see if the pedal also works for more melodic styles (Dark Tranquillity-kind of tones, for example).

@ilikepotatoes13454 жыл бұрын
Dude fuck it, I never personally use any noise gates for my HM-2. The deafening buzz gives it more character.
@sam70215 жыл бұрын
Thanks for Engineer pleasing video, I was wondering which one is the best clone and I thought Wurm is the best but this video changed my mind. It sounds incredible but I think that if you tweak wurm so much then you could possibly get very close without so much high frequency boost. However my main question from a very talented and well informed musician like you is this: "If you want to complement the sound of HM2 MIJ then what would you add to your pallet?, like having parametric, graphic eq, compressor? or any possible pedals. would you boost it? (not my favorite at all), what sort of humbuckers will you try? something like Dimarzio steve special that has some scooped frequency curve?" und vielen dank
@DomeNightbearer5 жыл бұрын
Hi Sam, thanks for your kind words. Regarding your question: There is a boost- video around the corner, so keep your eyes open. As for the others, I have to do some more research, BUT the Six-Hammer EQ is my current go to when refining my HM2.
@sam70215 жыл бұрын
@@DomeNightbearer I am looking forward to your next video. Except David Gilmour (item collector) fans who turned the price of HM2 MIJ and may have tried alot of different things with HM2 metal heads are all having same approach to this pedal: dime all the knobs and run it through clean channel of your amplifier and think no further. However there are some engineers like Mr Kurt Ballou, who has tried to take chainsaw sound one step further. Lets do research and see what's coming. By the way on the EQ section what is your aim? I mean are you trying to tame any frequency or boost something? How about noise gates what do you do with the noise on this pedal? Thanks for reading :)
@DomeNightbearer5 жыл бұрын
@@sam7021 I released a video of the 6 Hammer today, you might want to check it out. Noise is a problem however and a good gate is a must if you want the brutal death metal sound ;)
