An old man that me and my father was friends with had a Super XL925 in mint condition. He recently passed away and my dad gave his wife $150 for it. Its a beast... Me and my father collect Homelite saws. We have 25 as of right now.. Lots of XL12's and 360's. We have afew of the smaller XL 2's, 240's and EZ's... My dad is 72 and i try to enjoy every second that i can with him. We love collecting and working on saws together..

that's one of the first saws I ever used,it was my grandfather's, seeing it brings back memories. I remember I hung it in a big oak log once and was so nervous to tell him about it,he handed me an old Poulan and told me to cut it out,he said it happens to all of us,it won't be the last time you hang a saw.

I still run my 925 occasionally Just did a piston ring and a new cylinder on it at five years ago

Had 2 of these decades ago, 175 lbs compression 1st pull! Got 2 XL98 cut-off versions of these, both seized but presumably with good ignition systems.

Is the HS jet removed from the carb a check valve as well or just a jet?
@WestCoastMuscleSaws2 жыл бұрын
The fixed jet is a nozzle with a predetermined setting, visible from metering side of carburetor

I am working a a few old Homelite's and a Stihl Farm Boss 041 and was wonder if I should use a richer fuel mix 40:1 as appose to 50:1. I have 2 XL that are a little different one was barely used and a 925.

50:1 should be fine, as the Synthetic oils today are Much better.

yeah people go "nuts" for the 925, but it's actually LESS power than most similar models.....I think it spins a little faster, but it's whatever is Popular....

i have 2 of these and they are pretty good but not as nice as the 360 up to 650 type of homelites my 925s were made in canada and have power but vibrate a lot.
