Most ships have these types of lifts now. Some are put up unless they are in use. I would always ask if there is one and you need it.

Absolutely brilliant to see how the on board pool is made accessible :) Climbing into, or out of, a pool is something I can't do anymore, thanks to osteoarthritis damaged joints in my knees and ankles, so unless a pool has a ramp, I can't go swimming anymore. A pool chair lift would make any pool accessible, on land or at sea..

Will they let you sit in the lift while you’re in the pool if you can’t walk?

I believe they will, the only time it might be an issue would be when they need it for another passenger
