Actually for me it is as you say, you do show everything on your show; and it really makes for fascinating viewing. I can vicariously travel the cut with you while I'm comfortably seated in my warm home in the tropics. Seeing all the ups and downs that you go through plus your friends is great. Heidi, everyone is aloud a bad day, however when you said that your covid test was positive reminded me of mine, Christmas 2022,fully jabbed and the flu jab, went down positive, 4 days in bed, only got up to go for a pee and fill a water bottle, no food, i didn't have the energy, you are a wonderful person, the world needs more Heidi's ❤❤❤

So sorry you had to go through the "Plague". I've worn a mask in public for almost 2 years now. I have some health issues and do not want to chance getting that. After being married for 56 years and now a widow: your right, whatever the reason is, being alone is scary at times. Waking up in the middle of the night with a panic attach . Why? Who know why these things happen. But to not have anyone close to talk me through it is tough. And you do worry, being on your own. I know what your feeling. You hang in there lady and get some rest. Well, I had Covid 18 months and all I could do was gaze at the computer and no strength to do much else. No good taking tablets, forget that one, I had a stinking stiff hot strong toddy (whisky, my best peaty malt) every single night for a fortnight, that killed it but the exhaustion was a right bugger. I run my own mail order business so from day 3 worked an hour a day and built it up day by day. After 10 days decided to walk across the field, a 6 minute walk and then I thought hells bells, how the heck can I get back, could hardly put one foot in front of the other, Had to force myself -I'm not dying out here! A few more stinking hot toddys now and again, took me 3 months to feel really right again and a few more to feel really right. Hope you are ok now ducks.

What a great soul you are Heidi even when suffering from rotten symptoms you have put together a brilliant video which is quite thought provoking (I'm 65 and down on the Weaver) and also is really informative--so well done Rum Pirate you're an inspiration ! And oy !!! you're not going dying anywhere I'll get on my bike that I'll fetch onboard moor at Saltersford upper side of the locks (Barnton) walk up the hill and pedal to Anderton then towpath it along until you emerge somewhere bring you my anti dying kit for liveaboard boaters The canal closures and thank God for pot noodles ! It's mad you're right the whole system has gone balls up and that has changed summer plans I am sure for many it did for me I was ready to take the share boat narrowboat down onto the Weaver back up again and go up to Preston Brook and Runcorn see a mate moored there he's a member of that club you liked the Bridgewater one with the little bar Anyway the bloody lift broke down and instead I'm trapped on the river on my cruiser hopping trains from Hartford and Northwich to and from not anything like what I had in mind up until a couple of weeks ago at all and instead of a 57 foot 6 berth all to myself I'm on a 21 foot Shetland but good mooring secure and a roomy landing stage 240V hook up water etc Good canopy not very old and a young hardly done many hours outboard and as you well know and enjoy--you can crank it along the Weaver in parts :) Anyhow mate you get well you're a battler who won't stay 'crook' (Aus) long and you've got a Mum like mine was always there whatever the situation making a fuss cooking making up parcels of stuff and loving you basically that is really sweet and important as a parent you are always their child :) Get well soon Heidi take care and you're not kicking the bucket don't be daft and you're never alone either so don't think things that aren't going to happen ! I sympathize entirely I live on a narrowboat and recently broke my ankle in four places plus dislocated it too !! The shear effort of getting on and off the boat to get to hospital appointments alone is exhausting lucky I am not on my own but I'm very independent and hate relying on others it really hits home how difficult boat life can be when you're not well

It doesn’t really matter a Narrowboat or a house in the woods where I live. I got bashed by and Ent 5 weeks ago Nonday …. I hospital a week. Wouldn’t let me go home until I could get out of bed by myself……. Couldn’t walk to the out house the first week. Enjoy your boat. Wish I was on one. Best wishes on your recovery.

you take great care flower, loads of alcohol vitamins helps a lot just go somewhere quite and have a bloody good shout, use swearwords at the top of your voice that helps gets rid of a great deal of all kinds of things honest try it it works, just a nice piece of country side and let rip just take it easy for a few days no stress bottle of rum or two a day also helps, love you love your vlogs if you have plenty of money the wedding offer is still on 🤣🤣🤣.

Watched on the Telly when this first came out. Hoping by now you are feeling much better. Ugh! Hope I can escape the plague for awhile longer. I’m doing much better but I’m so dependent on other peoples help. I picked up my mandolin about 5 days ago I can play it without hurting….much….fingers are really weak especially my little finger. I was able to play along at session last night. I can take a shower by myself without sitting in a chair with someone scrubbing me down. Little things keep one cheered up. You make a great vlog even when you are sick.

Hi Heidi, I was lucky in that I only came down with Covid after I'd had the vacinations. Also luckily, for me, it was just like a bad cold for a couple of days. Glad you made it out the other side, and also glad it gave you some insight about what it's like if you're not feeling 100% on the boat. Hopefully, you can plan your way around similar things in the future.

Oo Heidi, I feel for you. Glad to see you up on your feet again! Take it easy on your rum fitness program, it still might take a while to get in shape, just the lips, remember? It must be hell for cruisers to be caged in by the CRT... I guess mooring limits will be loosened, because where can you go? Make the best of it, keep in touch with supporting friends and family and you will be alright!

Ahoy Heidi, this vlog made me think about the vulnerabilities of living on a narrowboat. My wife Lorraine and I ( 67 & 68 this November) are moving back onto the cut after an absence of 4 years . We aim to cc except for about 3 months when we will be in a marina in the winter. Still I'm still fit and able , Lorraine less so although she is a dab hand at steering the boat into the locks ! So we are going for whilst we can, life is for living. Thanks foe the mention on this week's pirate crew, Bernie the bolt.

Yes it made me worry too but luckily I had so much support from fellow boaters … the I thought if I was in a flat would I have still got the same support ?!
