We need more of these type videos! Would love to see how some of the other patterns are done on the rask with a curved surface also.

Nice! What about doing it with the edge of an endmill? So mount it at an angle or run on 5 axis?

I just received my Rask #2147 today with the "Streamlined" pattern as a gift from my son. It's absolutely beautiful! Love the attention to detail!

Looks awesome and glad to see the pattern on the lock side too. That's the biggest thing I wish was on the other patterns.

Try the never repeating tile. It will be much work. But unique to is one factor. Hope to see it soon! :)

I know it's just the model and tool path, but the gold of the select scale with the light blue from the toolpath would be a neat color scheme on the real deal

Thank you for posting more videos. I am new to CNC and need all the help that I can get.

Very reminiscent of the Kershaw Cathode but I gotta say I prefer the deeper pattern of the Kershaw. The new pattern definitely needs more definition, it’s very flat. Something more along the lines of the honeycomb Norseman.

Is it an idea to cut the pattern with a saw Mill with a radius. You can have high feed and clean look. Maybe im thinking to easy 😅.
@cl4367 Жыл бұрын
Would you be able to make the triangles cut at an angle or different angles from one another so they are tilted slightly from the flat surface? Essentially creating a sequin effect as the light catches the surfaces of them.

So... is the tumble neccessary here? These parts look soooo gorgeous off the lapping machine!

Depends how razor sharp you like your edges. 😐😐

maybe try a drag bit with an aggressive negative z offset for the centerline pass, then two passes with the ball end mill for the offset passes?

i remember thinking to myself that the lapping plate pattern would look sick on a knaf...and it sure does...
@chishgre Жыл бұрын
You could look at broaching/shaping this if you've got multi-spindle orient on your machine. You could probably do it at a way higher feedrate than what you're able to achieve with a .01" endmill on a 12k rpm machine, and in one or two passes.

Great video 👍 when cutting straight lines could a small diamond disc speed up then use a ball engraver😊

Question is. Why isn’t the origin on the pallet used so it is accurate? Just don’t want to move the machines zero for every file used?

I'm not sure if the border adds anything? I'd like to see it without border anyway.

nice pattern, however the "straight" lines across the handle could be a bit more dynamic by offsetting them 10 - 20 degrees.(just my opinion of course)

Surely just altering stock to leave on the engraving wouldn’t fix the climb/conventional milling issue?
@LUKAJA3 Жыл бұрын
Hey I was just wondering. Dont you have 5 axis CNC? Why using 3 steps for a pattern. use ballnose or lolipop tool and lean the workpiece at an angel so yo always climb cut from the side of the toolnot from the center of the tool. Wouldnt that be faster and better?
@cristianconrads9109 Жыл бұрын
You have 5 axes, why don’t you mill over a 45 degree plain so you use only one side of the tool?
@codered741 Жыл бұрын
Because he’s using the 3 axis mill for Norseman.

Instead of three pases cant yiu just do two? The first drag pass you call it looks good on one side. Then alk you do is touch up the bad side? What am I missing
