The Chambers Brothers are wonderful to me. The song Time Has come Today was the best escape I had from my Mother's Mother's psychological torture. To be able to escape the barrage of insults and hateful statements and find peace and mind travel in a song was a blessing from the Universe that we all are. Love Peace and Happiness

I was 16 in 1969. weaned on the Beatles, the Stones, Cream, humble Pie, ect. and of course Jimi. I first heard The Chambers Brothers on WNEW FM, in N.Y. "Time" had hit the air waves and that was all she wrote. The Brothers opened the door to R&B for me and greatly influenced my playing. I bought all their albums and playing then until the grooves wore out. not many bands can effect a guitarist like that but the Chambers Brothers could and did, I can not thank them enough for the pleasure and enjoyment they gave me and the rest of the world through the years . Now at age 67 I still jam with them. They were fantastic musicians who's talent never grows old

Summer Of Soul brought me here. The drummer is the funkiest white guy ever. Tight in the pocket and then some!

Just heard a radio interview with his English daughter who, with no prior knowledge of her father's background follwed a near identical path into becoming a percussionist and gave her first public performance on his birthday

If I were suddenly young again, I'd study this group, copy the way they stand, the way they hold their guitars, the way they move to the music, and I would learn to sing with as much soul as I could muster just like the singer here does, and I would get me a band and show them this video and tell them, "that's how it's done."

I had the greatest experience seeing them live at the Los Angeles Street Scene in the 80s! They totally stole the show! It was one of the most incredible performances ever!

Song written by Betty Mabry who married Miles and became Betty Davis, the funk artist.

@charles r I loved me some Betty Davis back in the early 70s. she was the original wild and crazy nasty girl. she also named the cover title to her husbands great jazz album "bitches brew". its a shame she didn't get the recognition that she deserved. she was a sister ahead of her time😄

I love this drummer,but what was he thinking........?
@captainamerica3318 жыл бұрын
He nailed it. Tempo is close to double time of the original recording on their album. Sometimes live is just that much more adrenaline driven!
