Honestly I see Reo alot like bachira in season 1. Bachira kept trying to find his "monster" which was holding him back, but the second he let go of his monster he was able to evolve and become better. In this ep as soon as Reo let go of nagi for an instant and was like "let me play for myself" he was able to evolve and unlock a new style, which is why I feel like if Reo just focused on himself, he'll get nagi attention again, instead of this whole thing of him desperately chasing after nagi.

1:29 I won't lie, this season's animation during the games reminded me exactly of the Blue Lock videos or shorts I'd see on KZbin, and those basically looked like someone colored the manga panels and used a bit of photoshop or something to make it look like an animated comic
