Olympics is here. We'll be hearing the word "champion" a lot for the next couple of weeks. The word champion gives us a nice feeling, a feeling of achievement and winning. The word is used not just in sports, but in all fields. There are champions in business, technology, politics, academics and more. But why is that only some people are champions and others or not? What does it mean to have a "Champion's mentality"? Well, we'll find out in this book summary video of "The Champion's Mind", written by Jim Afremow.
In his book, Jim has used a lot of sports examples and motivational stories of Olympics champions. We are going to discuss 4 of my favorite pages from the book. The points discussed in video book are:
1. It's not every four years, it's everyday -
Champions train everyday. Today is the most important day in their lives.
2. Feed the good wolf -
Replace all that negative self talk with positive self talk and you'll see how much your life changes.
3. Flex the confidence muscle -
What matters the most at the time of execution is your confidence. To quote Maurice Greene: "Train like you are No.2, but compete like you are No.1."
4. Play to win -
Don't play to not lose. Play to win and that'll make all the difference.
