Making leaves for the antique table , reminded me , when my parents got married , my mom was a city girl and married a farmer, she asked her dad , who was a fine finish carpenter , to make her a big farm table . Which he did , it was wide enough to seat 2 across the ends , it had 7 leaves and could seat 22 when fully extended . I don’t know what happened to it when my parents retired off the farm ? I need to ask my siblings if they know . What a joy it was to get the table ready for those huge Christmas dinners at our house . Thank you for triggering this beautiful memory .

Tallinn is one of my most favorite places. I visited many years ago with my father, who was from there. The old town is gorgeous. I especially loved the whimsical names given to the towers which form part of the wall surrounding the old town; Fat Margaret for a very short and wide tower and Tall Hermann for a tall and skinny one. As well, I had some of the most interesting and delicious meals there. Russian occupation meant that Estonians relied on maintaining their handicrafts, as many goods were not available and, it was a way of maintaining their national identity (or, so I was told). Now, it is the tourists who benefit from a fine selection of beautiful handmade goods to chose from. I have some beautiful linens that my grandmother made; she grew the flax, turned it into thread, wove it and then embroidered it and made the lace that also decorates it. Needless to say, I treasure these heirlooms. Whilst I was in Estonia, I also purchased some hand knit items; I loved the patterns used in their creation. Thank you for reminding me of what a magical place Tallinn is.

Such a great idea to bring Michael along as you travel. So much fun. Mason has a great sense of fun and adventure. He knows that nothing is better than a sauna followed by ice cold water. You visited Estonia?! I'm from Estonia, the cafe you visited (the one in the basement) is one of the cosiest in the old town. A bit strange to see my hometown in a youtube video haha, hope you had a lovely experience and enjoyed your stay here!😊 Oh, and Glögi is a traditional winter drink around here, it's spicy and can be alocholic or non-alcoholic. You're supposed to heat it up beforehand and drink it while it's hot 💗

Unicorn Bertha I loved visiting Estonia.
@brianbaron68474 жыл бұрын
Unicorn Bertha one of the most influential people I’m my life , who taught me to live life and defy adversity was an elderly lady from Estonia . Her was a survivor of WW 2 and the Russian invasion had to live in work camps and endured the death of a child in the camps . She was the example of endurance resilience and hopefulness. I’m a senior citizen now and still am guided by her spirit . Because of her example I turned my rather fearful personality into a one of hopefulness and joy fullness. People today hardly believe that I started out life as a fearful and sad child . Would love to get to Estonia some day .

What a lovely trip, so many amazing foods and beautiful places to see. I didn’t know you were a knitter, what are you knitting? I’m on my 8th pair of socks for Christmas gifts, just about 10 more rows on the toe decrease and I’m finished. Four pairs of lovely soft Panama bottoms to go with some and I’m done except for a last minute baking. Can’t wait to see Christmas at the Chateau.✨🎄✨🎅🏼✨🥰✨🙋🏼

Hi Stephanie. I think that Mason may have still been hungry after that last dinner in Tallinn? Unique flavors presented theatrically but small portions. It looks cold in Finland, but I'm surprised that there wasn't snow already on the ground when you arrived. You had room for all of your family and friends in those two houses.
