I love the concept of this video. I bought a $500 PSA blem not long ago to make the same video. Wanted to see how a $500 rifle performed next to my Daniel rifles. Can it hold its own at distance? Survive 1000 rounds in a weekend course? I believe these low-end rifles can absolutely serve the needs we have at home. But we spend stupid money because we have it and we are men. 🤷♂️

When it comes to a Stoner, I don't buy the hype with the difference between shooting a $500 PSA or Bear Creek to a BCM or Daniel Defense. With iron sights, any one of them, you'll be on the money withing 150yrds. Anything farther, you start to tell a difference. But PSA is great. You can get a PSA blem M4 clone and one of their drop in 3lbs triggers and still be around $600, then compete with ARs well above its weight class. Great vid

I used to keep an ar15 in my trunk but I was constantly worried about it getting stolen and I really don’t have any budget ar15’s anymore so now I keep my 16” ruger American ranch 6.5 Grendel in the trunk. Light weight chest rig with 2 extra 25rd mags with a 15rd mag in the rifle. Has a cheap Harris style bipod and a 4-14x primary arms with the 308 acss reticle that actually works great for 6.5 Grendel that I caught on sale for $179 which was an awesome deal compared to the original price being double that

I think the balance point is what you can afford to part with in the (likely) event of a vehicle break-in. Trucks are targeted by thieves due to the well publicized proliferation of ‘truck guns’. A PSA blem pistol that tucks away with a Primary Arms dot attached is in the zone for me. Can’t leave the higher end rigs lying around unattended though. Great topic, thx for the content.
@xxxlonewolf494 ай бұрын
I like the "law folder" idea...but it IS another 'break' point. The modified short buffer-less bolts are REALLY cool as an idea, but I keep seeing mixed results from them as well. The AR-18 system, while heavier than a DI AR, does seem very reliable. But...DA = spare parts EVERYWHERE.

Truck.. just a ruger EC9. I’ve found that CVLife produces some decent stuff. I have a $30 rim fire on my marlin model 60 and a 2.5x10 green and red reticle with green laser on my cheap AR range trainer. Magnification isn’t quite as advertised imo but the clarity and accuracy are more than expected for the price. Both hold zero well and I’m not gentle with them at all. I agree that within 200-250 yards you really don’t need anything more.

As a “truck gun” my main concern is that the rifle could shoot 120 rounds rapidly without a malfunction and it was A zone accurate up to 50 yards. Most gun fights are under 25 yards even for law enforcement.

Good video! It makes for a great thought exercise. I've become a fan of 'School of the American Rifle', so I understand that 'As Good As' and 'Good Enough' are NOT the same, but I lean hard in the budget direction--especially for a gun that needs to be considered disposable; if you keep in in a vehicle, theft is a very possible outcome. For a vehicle gun, it's whatever I grab first. My Kel-Tec SU16 is a top contender. My AR is currently a PSA mid-length upper on a Sport II lower with a carry handle. If I want an optic, I have a PA 3x microprism.

Accuracy is not understood by most shooters...who can't out shoot their rifle (which includes me and everyone I've met in 20 years of service). Minuet Of Human = Good Enough for 99%. Not a lot of 'hostage shots' taken by the average joe. More accurate IS better...but, most of us don't shoot/train enough for that to even matter.
