When I was a kid and we went to Minnesota to visit family this was the only beer my uncles up that way would drink. I still enjoy it if I spot it now and than. Driving around Las Vegas yesterday gas was seen to bee anywhere from $4.63 to $5.15 a gallon. Stopped at a local liquor store and saw a 24 pack suitcase of Hamm's for $12.99. Bought it and now drinking one while watching your video from 2 years ago. Cheers!

Hamm's is a Minneapolis/St Paul beer, but it is an established PNW tradition. It and Rainier and Old Milwaukee are preferred by beer drinkers on a budget who don't want PBR.

I've sold beer, I've brewed beer. I was drinking small brewery beer before "micro brew" was a term. Hamm's the best cheap beer out there. I don't taste rice or corn. Hamm's is better than Miller Lite, Coors Lite, Bud Lite or any of the huge advertised beers. I normally drink all barley/wheat malt beer with no adjuncts. Hamm's is actually palatable to me.

I was attracted by the look of the can but I didn't buy any for a while after that. Then I saw the price so I figured it couldn't hurt to try. I think it's quite a good taste and I would still drink it if it cost 3x as much. Similar to Miller high life in my opinion, which I have always enjoyed... but idk I'm not any kind of expert in anything except swinging a hammer. I'm not hard to please

I feel that many affordable American beers are not as bad as what people assume, or say they are. I think the problem is, people compare the light/cheap american beers against craft or other styles and to me that's not fair to compare. They are all good in their own ways, but if you like craft beer, then you shouldn't talk bad about it or try to review it. If you like stouts, then again you shouldn't talk bad about it or try to review it. In general for anyone reading this, when reviewing a beer, keep an open mind and try to understand that you cannot compare different beer styles, it's just not a fair way to review and compare.

I think this is pretty much spot on. I usually look at a lot of these beers as something to have after a hard day of work or maybe some yard work. They won't offer a lot of depth in flavors but usually you'll get consistent products with a light refreshment. Thanks a ton for the thoughtful comment on this. I try not to be snobbish or anything with products cause there is something for everyone out there.

Love Hamms. You can only find it at a few supermarket chains here in Socal. And its $15 for a 24 pack. Unfortunately its popularity has caught on amongst the hipsters. Its in almost every dive bar for $5-6 a can. And the indie liquor stores that carry it also overprice it (about $9-$10 for a six pack) which defeats the whole purpose of Hamms. Cheaper than miller light, high life, banquet. But tastes better than natural light, pabst and Schlitz and yuengling.

I love drinking Hamms very good beer. As well Pabst Blue Ribbon other good beer and even Stroh's beer. Don't forget Schitz other good beer. On draft Pabst Blue Ribbon, Stroh's and Schitz all three great beer. Never had Hamms on draft. Other beers are like white say beer in 80's was bad as well Rolling Rock, Little Kings.

I think it’s pretty good, reminds me of my dad drinking Hamms in the sixties. The real test is how you feel after the whole six pack. Great for burping after a big BBQ. In San Francisco there was a fantastic sign at the Hamms brewery I think it was off Harrison street. Put Hamms in your backpack.

It's interesting how 50 cents a can is still around the price of budget beer options. When I was in high school I always drank Old Milwaukee red. It was just as cheap as keystone or natty, but at least it had some flavor. I remember being able spend less than $15 on a 30 pack back in 2005-2009. I think you could get a thirty for $10-12 most times.

Hamm’s is a classic. Dad used to take it fishing. It used to be marketed as an outdoors beer. Personally I like it, it brings back great memories. The old commercials were memorable. It’s alcohol percentage is 4.7%. I guess that was too hard to google and include in your video.

When I do these videos I typically grab them and go by what’s on the can. Of course I could google search it but if you’re a casual drinker grabbing something off the shelf you’re likely not going to do that. I personally drink Hamms pretty often since this video and quite honestly should have given a higher score to it. I have actually done a bit of research on the history of this beer since. They actually started making beer on the old brewery property again a while back. Off hand I can’t remember the name of the brewery though.

I have drank gallons of Hamm's and a lot of other inexpensive Beers. Lucky Lager, Milwaukee's Best, Carlings black label, Falstaff, Iron City, Schaeffer's, , Falls City, and more. I know nothing about this craft Beer thng. The best Beer ever was in Germany though Hefeweisen and Dunkel (dark Beer) 15 years ago or so, expensive Budweiser was 5$ or so, used to get a 6 Pack of Pabst Blue ribbon 16 Oz cans for 3.50$. I love Beer, but I gave it up for wine because of bloating. Hamm's is good Beer!

Back in my day a premium case of beer like Coors or Bud cost $12.50 a case of 24 cans . Being a broke youngster i bought the specials like Jax or Falstaff for $ 6.25 per 24 can case and thise beers nothing special but they drank just fine on a budget !

Very similar! Miller/Coors got it from Pabst-Strohs etc. It went through some changes of course but surprisingly close to the original. I Love my Hamms!

Hamm's is like PBR, it's good for what it is, I would check for freshness before buying that because it might be better if it's absolutely fresh, getting in a gas station it could be months old or even more considering its cheaper than CocaCola

If you get a chance, try Montucky beer. It's a good cheap beer. Not as cheap as hamms but drinkable. I actually look for it . Sometimes a simple flavor is what works best.
