Nice job. I believe, you are the one, who can do a detail comparison video of Scrambler 400 X with Scram 440 . 😊
@AbhishekDaniel
@AbhishekDaniel 6 күн бұрын
440 is such a pathetic machine IMO 😅 just 1bhp extra from 411 with added 10kg weight. Makes no sense. They should’ve made a scrambler with the 450 engine instead. 400X is far superior to that platform. Cannot even compare

I changed to 15T sprocket on my 400x at 2300 km and now have riden ~700km with 15T. I miss the peppiness of 14T sprocket. I agree to remaining pros mentioned in the video. But the bike feel like a regular bike like splendor post 15T sprocket. However I'll stick to 15T for the calmness it brings to the engine.

I also changed to 15T and changed back to 14T. my previous bike was CB350 and with 15T, i felt no differance. Required more trottle input. 14T for this bike is the best. May be the ECU should be tunned differently for 15T without which the bike feels like splendor/CB350 0r any other 150CC bike.I only ride on Roads. Unexpected offroads are part of it.

I believe, it's mostly about the temperament of a rider. Whether off-road or highways, some riders feel adrenaline rush and fun in riding more of a bit of untamed horse (14) rather than tamed horse (15). I am sure, Triumph must have definitely given a thought for using 14 sprocket on its Scrambler and 15 on its Speed; else was there really any big deal in not having 15 on Scram? Food for thought.

Well said. But it’s up to the customer to decide whether to go with what company has given or to tweak it according to his/her liking. It’s not like companies have made perfect decisions all the time.

Hey Bro.... I always follow your vlogs because I have the same bike.... Even if colour is also same..... One question - are you coming across any frequent chain loosening issue? Do you clean and lube your bike yourself or go to garage? What is the frequency???? Thanks in advance.....
@AbhishekDaniel
@AbhishekDaniel Күн бұрын
Clean and lube the chain every 500km in dry conditions or every 300kms in wet conditions. Adjust the slack every 800-1000km depending on the riding style. I do these myself. It’s easy to do with a paddock stand and saves time and money going to the service centre

@AbhishekDaniel

No and that’s not an issue. It’s a short stroke engine and you need to keep it running in mid to high range RPM. Don’t use too much of lower RPMs

Change in a single tooth in the front gives a similar effect of changing 2-3 teeth in the rear. So changing just 1 tooth in the rear may not give a noticeable difference. Anyways you could experiment and find out

Hey, I've been planning to change the sprocket on my scram 400x too. I'm just worried about something. When I asked the service manager at official triumph centre, he shocked me by saying that this mod will void my engine warranty. I have been an unlucky customer by facing too many issues with my scram. I've got fuel pump, handlebar replacement where I had to claim warranty. I just don't want a situation where I get some engine related issues and they don't let me claim warranty just because of a sprocket mod. I don't know how to deal with this because I am quite fed up of the vibrations on frequent highway touring. If you have any idea about this warranty situation, do let me know. BTW, I love your videos! Very informative!
@AbhishekDaniel
@AbhishekDaniel 6 күн бұрын
Sorry to hear this but looks like your service centre folks are overreacting. Changing the sprocket will not harm the engine. Try a different service center or buy the sprocket from them and change it with a local mechanic

Hi bro.. I did the same change of changing to a 15 teeth sprocket around 2 months ago. But changed it back to 14 teeth sprocket last week. Here are my thoughts: I have a long commute to office and 70% of it is highway. So I wanted the engine to feel more relaxed while cruising on the highway at high speeds. So on changing it to a 15T sprocket, I got exactly that. The engine was smoother and I was able to ride at higher speed more comfortably and smoothly. HOWEVER, when it comes to smaller roads, hilly areas or the city or off roads, I felt the bike was a bit under powered. There was no fun in the bike. I felt like sometimes the bike was knocking at lower speeds, so I have to change the gear down to 1st gear in the cases where the 14T sprocket will handle it in 2nd gear. The bike felt calm.. but in a less fun and laggy way. I missed that fun I got from the scrambler with the old sprocket. The low end torque and the sudden acceleration was missing.. even though it was there, but dialed down. The only positive that I got from the 15T sprocket was that it was perfect for highway cruising and touring. But it will be less fun on Mountain roads or off roads where it needs more torque. Now with the 14T sprocket I'm having fun with my scrambler even though I have to sacrifice my high speed cruising on the highway. Peace ❤️ Cost for me to change : 251 for sprocket + 700 for labour.
@AbhishekDaniel
@AbhishekDaniel 6 күн бұрын
Thanks for your feedback. We had no such issues in mountain roads (Ladakh) or in dirt track sessions. And the stock is 16T. 14T would make it even more touring focused if i'm not wrong.
@abhijithlal5163
@abhijithlal5163 6 күн бұрын
@ Stock is actually 14T for the scrambler and 15T for the Speed. That's why the scrambler's gearing was shorter and had more torque done the rev range. If it was 16T, the final drive would become even more taller and it won't be suitable for the scrambler. The torque won't be enough to pull the bike. It might me good for Speed 400 and will behave like the Speed T4 but not for scrambler. The 15T would be good for commutes, but I think the 14T brings out the scrambler character of the bike since more torque == more fun 🌝 BTW.. loved ur ladakh videos. Expecting more travel vlogs machane 🌝❤️

Hi abhijith, just now I swapped from 14T to 15T. I also feel the same. I’m missing the aggressive nature of the bike which makes the bike fun to ride. But highway cruising is better now. I’m like I want both 😂. I would say low end torque is adequate to do the job but it is not the torqy engine like before. As I’m Planning few long trips I haven’t reversed
