WHY I OFTEN DON'T MENTION OTHER BRANDS IN MY VIDEOS.
You may have noticed that I often don't mention the original brands that watches I am reviewing pay homage to. This is very intentional and not meant to offend you or the original brands. I lost my first channel in October 2020 which I had spent 9 months growing and invested a significant amount of money in simply because I had mentioned the original brands in some of my videos. There are people who try to use KZbins lack of understanding when it comes to the difference between homage watches and fake watches to attack other channels and their owners and sadly I fell foul of this in 2020. This channel was also attacked recently and KZbin deleted content simply because I had said 'subby homage' and 'Rolex homage' in two videos despite the watches in the videos being perfectly legal homage watches. Please understand that I can not afford to risk my channel so I will no longer be mentioning other brands when reviewing homage watches.

I stumbled across this Calatrava homage shortly after watching your video extolling the virtues of this movement. It looked good and so I picked one up in the 11/11 sale for around £105, which made it even better value. It has since become one of my favourite watches, getting more wrist time than most. It looks and wears great and the size is perfect for a daily wear. Ignore the vintage lume versions, I have the blue one and the lume is really good, lasting all night. My only complaint was the small crown on the original version, which made winding awkward, but this has now been addressed. If only Berny removed their name from the dial and just used their logo, it would be perfect. I can't recommend this watch too highly and, if you are tempted to buy it, just go ahead, you won't be disappointed. It's another fantastic Berny buy.

Yeah, I have the green fade dial version. Quite nice... quite nice... the strap was more of a suede than a traditional leather and I didn't love it on the watch as I feel it made it look a bit less dressy, but the quality of both the watch head and the strap is just amazing and I put the strap on another watch. As you mentioned, but quite the very best finished case ever but I love the dimensions and the overall look. The movement is a plus (mine runs about +1 second per day with the dial up) and I just really like how it looks and feels on wrist. I grabbed mine used but essentially new from a Facebook group for $50 shipped. Amazing!

Thank you for your channel. I’ve got a older 36 mm unbranded military dial watch ( 90,s I think) manual wind with quickset date. Very smooth winding and is a high beat. It works very well so I’m not going’s be removed the back. It’s a china movement.

This is the watch I was referring to when you reviewed this movement for the first time a couple of months ago, Berny always finds a way to squeeze the most watch out of the money asked. BTW I'm not too bothered about the brand name, at least it pays homage to something real (Bern, Switzerland) unlike the contrivance that sprung the Rolex name.

I lovely 'little' watch! I received mine earlier today and am even more impressed by it in my hand than in the videos. I chose the ORG version, with the orange hands and numbers, as the brand name and dial text are nicely muted, making the overall appearance more subtle ... and a close homage to the Patek Calatrava (5226G), for which I certainly would balk at paying $40K for. It seems, from YT videos posted a few months back, that the earlier version of this watch didn't have the display back, so that is a good change.

I been always put off by the Name. Specially when the Berny hype in politics was going on in the US. I didn't know if they were tributing him therefore I didn't want a brand that people would judge me. I am all pro Berny Sanders but some people are Cult Fanatics here in the US. I enjoyed your video very much. I ought to mention one thing. I went to Aliexpress to look at these excellent watches for about $56, amazing, however the pictures I saw that looked at the display case back, I could see they did not have the ETACHRON regulator like the one on your watch. The Etachron regulator is a sign of a well-made watch and really makes a difference in quality in my mind. I don't know why some would be with and others without but it makes me suspect enough to stay away. Seagull does make fine watches and this movement alone on Cousin's UK lists for about $75 USD to say nothing of the case, strap, and sapphire crystal. Thanks for sharing.

Damn I’m tempted, I love the calatrava but wish it was stainless and affordable. This would be so much better if they shrunk the brand name and threw in a black date wheel. I’ve been on the hunt for a watch with a similar textured dial that isn’t a homage but nothing has ticked all the boxes yet.

I bought the same color of this watch. The reason I bought it is entirely because of the mechanism of the watch. It is a swiss eta clone, but calling it a clone is an insult to the watch. because the watch is like a real eta movement. all parts are exactly the same

It’s a homage of Patek Philippe 2022 White Gold Calatrava 5226G-001 . I have real difficulty getting over the name “Berny” on the dial though, if it had a San Martin logo then no problem

Like the watch but it’s too big for me as it’s all dial so wears bigger than 38. If they replaced the massive plastic movement spacer with a smaller one & made it 34mm, I’d be tempted.

I find the ST2130 accuracy is not that good when it winds down. The mainspring power delivery might NOT be very linear it seems. I find that my 2892 and DUW3001 had a deviation of 10-15 over 36hr off wrist from full wind vs 4 or 1s/d respectively on wrist 24/7. I can't regulate my 2892 or DUW3001 yet because they are still under warranty. My ST2130s lose 60-90s off wrist from a full wind in just 24hrs but 0-1s/d on wrist 24/7. I wonder if it is the spring material or shape.

I suspect the brands are sending the watches to the reviewers on youtube which have the best of best regarding the built quality the accuracy the strap quality etc. I have the black one of this watch which have screwdown case back. You struggle to grap the crown; if you manage it you cant handwind it because mine was stuck. I couldnt hand wind it! The crown feels so cheap that you cant feel the date and time setting positions when you pull and push it. The dial is not legible. And finally mine is running 17-20 seconds fast a day.
