Interesting to think about how to punish the cheating hand - thank you for sharing your experience

When the intention is to drive forwards, as soon as there is no counter force the hand will drive forward to its intended destination. Don't focus on the hands, focus on hitting and only deflect when you feel pressure. Train this with your mind and body. At a certain level of training you will automatically hit anytime you don't feel pressure. And when you get one hand occupied, you have to keep relaxed and accept the pull or push while gently keeping the forward pressure and at the same time hit with the other hand which is free. This looks simple but it takes a great deal of mental and body practice to accomplish. The opponent is stiff, and not driving forward with his hand and his mind. He is lacking relaxation to experience sensitivity and he is lacking the mindset of driving force. When you are stiff you will miss all those golden nuggets of wing chun. You have shown all this nicely in this video.

The cheating hand, running hand. Definitely brings the hands up. A set up action. Great seminar on that one from kung fu's best teacher. I see what you mean about using the empty hand if somebody uses it. 💯😁

Very interesting - thinking psychologically, if someone uses a set-up action a fighter would want to punish them right away - send a clear message, "Never again"

@@file66 It's called a "cheating hand" because its only intention is to commit a strike that has no follow through. Furthermore, it's a "gambling" action, meaning that no control over the opponent's hands has been established, leaving the striker open to at least two counterattacks.

People who make only cheating hands don't want to learn and practice. I guess if WSL saw his student do that, he wouldn't teach him anymore.

He would correct them. Realizing you're doing the wrong thing is part of learning.
