In terms of soundtracks, a lot of ppl don't realize that HSM wasn't even the 2nd DCOM to get a soundtrack. 1st was Cheetah Girls, 2nd was Pixel Perfect, 3rd was Stuck In the Suburbs, 4th was Zenon: Z3, and 5th was High School Musical

I just wanted to add context to Aqua’s struggle: it used to be harder for POC to get cabs in any large city back in the 80’s, 90’s, to early 2000’s. So Aqua was experiencing racism in her quick struggle clip you showed. Luckily with Uber and apps like that it’s not as much a problem. Still a problem but not to the extent it used to be. I also cannot recommend the book series more if you liked these movies. They dive deeper into these struggles of these girls and they are fantastic books to read even if they are YA fiction. I read them after becoming obsessed with this movie. Hope you have a good day and keep up with the content!

I didn’t understand most thing either as a young South African watching this but I knew as a kid it was great. Used to sit and have outfit changes ready while watching the movie so I could be dressed as cool as them lol. Although Galleria had her busted moments in the first movie, she really did believe in The Cheetah Girls’ talent and potential in the end. She was their leader and their biggest supporter, despite her big-headed, tone-deaf moments. I get that it was the principle of the thing in terms of her character in the end, but the others really did leave her hanging, knowing good and well they didn’t want that deal. They always painted Galleria as the villain, but they talked behind her back and forced Chanel to be the one to speak up just because she knew her the longest. Any one of them could have brought up the issues at any moment, or they could’ve had a group discussion. And then they left her hanging when it mattered the most. Their character was also questionable at times. They had their “bad friend” moments in the second movie, as well. Idk. The Cheetah Girls franchise has been one of my favorites since I was literally in kindergarten and I’ve taken note of its complexities over the years. I wouldn’t have done all that Galleria did, but I understand her, and I sympathize a lot more with her. All in all, they were all flawed, really! I know it’s not that serious, though haha!
