Whenever they played without him in the LAC series, Kyrie became the sole attacking output in the Mavs and the clippers just took advantage of that by blitzing him in every possession which led to the mavs becoming helpless. Even if Luka has only one leg, they'll still play him because he's able to draw defenders away to create space for Kyrie and Gafford/Lively.

Also, the Timber Wolfs vs Suns series showed how the ref's can control games. After this game 1 I can see it happening again. That's going to hurt the entertainment value of this series. Luka can't hit threes and OKC drilled them in the second half. Still taking the Mav's.

OKC won becouse of soft fouls calling until mid of 3rd Q. SGa got fouls called for really every simple touch. If Minnesota would play OKC like they play Denver they would all have 6 fouls by end of game. You just can not have such big difference in fouls calling in playoffs!!! Nah buddy is valid. Yes I’m an okc fan and I don’t want to count the mavs out but it’s kinda hard not to cause they have so much going against them. Okc has better depth, defense, and hustle. If Luka wasn’t injured it would def be a different story but at this point it seems like kyrie and Luka have to put up 30+ each every single game going forward to even have a fighting chance. Did the refs help OKC hit all those threes to put the game away in the 4th? Nope. Dallas had it down to a 1-point game. If Dallas don't have the mental fortitude to overcome a little adversity in the 1st half then they don't deserve to win. They had a chance in the 2nd half and were found wanting.

I say the mavs are done. Not because they're not as talented, because they're not willing to fight. The mavs organization embraces tanking and losing in order to improve playoff seed or draft position. The are not dogs. And Luka too has eventually adobted that losing culture.
