If Dwight gets the ball in his hands away from the basket, he looks terrified and treats it like a hot potato. Compared to someone like Jokic, where the Defense has to worry about him passing, driving and shooting

YaboiShaun Dwight didn’t fade because he went to LA. He faded because he had terrible back injuries hampering him that year and he played through them. Then he just got older. Centers don’t last as long as the other positions. He never would’ve been the next Shaq, he played for 7 years before he left ORL and he wasn’t nearly as dominant or good as Shaq. He was an elite center in a time where very few great centers existed, then lost it due to time and injuries. The coach in LA also played him totally wrong most nights he wasn’t hurt.

It's kinda funny how people used to hate on Shaq for saying Howard should be better, His comments are supportive in comparison to what people call Howard now, we could've had another great center but he was too scared to really improve, or maybe he didn't his job all that seriously. Like Barkley and Shaq said, those same predictable post moves his entire career.

He should've been great, but he's too goofy. He had Patrick Ewing in Orlando and Kevin Mchale and Hakeem in Houston, and still never developed a real post game. Even going as far as saying that he didn't want Ewing's advice. He went to play with Kobe, Kobe was on his ass from day one just like he was with Gasol. Except Gasol didn't let it get to him, and he actually listened to what Kobe was saying and they got a ring. Dwight just folded. In Orlando Matt Barnes would say that he would be goofing around in the playoffs during their title run. Instead of locking in because he was playing against the Celtics, and Matt would go onto say in his podcast: 'We're playing the Celtics. They HATE you. You can't be goofing around before the game.' And now he finally has a ring because LeBron wanted another big man. He still has no post game. I don't wanna say that he lucked into a ring, but there was a reason that he was jobless for most of the year and hasn't had a steady team in 5 years.

100% correct. Believe it or not, his summer prep + season in Charlotte is when that probably finally got addressed. Dwight hired a full time personal trainer who said he was so suprised how stiff Dwight was. They then did a lot of plyometrics, calisthenics, balance training, running, some slimming down and we got a lean, agile and mobile Dwight back. Unfortunately it was a bit too late.

shaq meant 7 a quarter 28 a game....for 11+ years.....he got confused but hes right...dwight should be able to score 1 basket a quarter on post ups....1 on pick and rolls...1 ft a quarter made out of say 2 attempts which is only 50% and 1 basket off a cut/offensive rebound/easy find around the rim when someone else gets doubled ...thats 7 points a quarter...the 3-4 rebounds a quarter will come so he could easily avg 28 14 and 3 blocks...come on........the fact dwights never avg 25 is a joke...
