The fact of the matter is, the Chevy SS was never suppose to be! 😮 The Pontiac G8 lineup was suppose to be Pontiac exclusive sports car. The Chevy SS only came to be after Pontiac was shut down and General Motors was was contractual obligated to fulfill their order with Holden Australia. 🤔 Once the contract was fulfill, we got no more Chevy SS's and Holden went out of business. This is why the Chevy SS was never advertised or promoted outside of Nascar. I do remember Pontiac G8 commercials but not Chevy SS. General Motors dropped the ball in my opinion with the success of the Dodge Charger, the G8 or SS would have been a great rival for the Charger.

They really shot themselves in the foot with the pricing. The only way that pricing would have gotten the brand conscious buyers to want it, would have been to make it GORGEOUS, which really wouldn't have been that hard for a sedan. It's not ugly but it's not going to make someone choose it over the Euro competition (audi, bmw, etc). Instead they make it look like a Malibu, charge 50k and wonder why no one's buying. May as well have called it a "Malibu GT"

It started with a 1994 GM B-body Caprice/Impala. But sadly died in 1996. Then GM brought it back for its final years in 2017. Only this time GM built it in the correct manner.

Yep. I’d be happy with an 09 G8 GXP with a six speed manual though. Had to “settle” for a 2011 Caprice PPV with 32k miles though. 🙄😂

The weird (and sad) part of this era of GM is that they took all these Holden cars and removed the cool. They look so similar to their Aussie counterparts but dumbed down, like making a ninja sword baby proof, its just not the same. I seen this car at a car show and it was so basic it was almost invisible, kinda like the GTO. The price wasn't basic though and that was the problem.
