I understand what you are saying Pat, however consider what Sean McVay’s coaching tree looks like. Matt LaFleur, Zac Taylor, Kevin O’Connell…McVay also stands by Thomas Brown as HC material. He made him assistant HC and TE coach because it’s believed that if you can have success on the offensive side as a TE coach, you’re more likely to succeed as a HC. This is because as a TE coach you have to work more with the O-line and reading defenses. BEAR DOWN!

The state of this franchise is such that anything not Flus-like is like a breath of fresh air but Bears coaching has been in the toilet for so long that fresh smell is only the deodorant in the outhouse. Retaining Flus was like telling the fans in advance (despite the spit and polish put on the image in the offseason) "Welcome to loserville. Population: You" to the fans. Man, I'm SO tired of all of these recycled coaches. They got FIRED because they were NOT getting it done where they were. Thomas Brown WILL be a HC in this league. Hear the players. He's already a leader of men and worked his way up to the assistant HC slot in LA. It would so typically Bears to have a guy in their building that they let go only have him become successful elsewhere, as we've seen with several players who are going off right now at other spots in the league.
