Agree ..the Happ, Swanson, and Taillon contracts were all terrible(Ian effing Happ has a no-trade clause? GMAFB). The Astros knew something that Jed didn't, which looks like a waste of $8M. $9M for Smyly?? $6M for Gomes? $3M for Bote, lol. Still paying $7M for Trey Mancini, is laughable business management. We're paying the awful Wisdom, what, $2.75M? Such an incredible waste of money from Hoyer.

I expected this to happen last year also. How do you spend $230 million dollars on a roster with no superstar, no closer, no third baseman, no first baseman, no leadoff hitter, and no cleanup hitter. Jed got lucky with the starting pitchers.
@davidsnyderWisdomTrollBlocker
@davidsnyderWisdomTrollBlocker 7 ай бұрын
Well give him some credit come on..Jed got the starting pitchers right!..The relief pitching on the other hand is just lookiNg average. Everyone thought he should have gone after Bader or some other big arm he didn't it cost us..Jed's mistakes with the line up now..Not all his fault..Everyone was happy to land Swanson who would have thought he would be this bad this year?..Belli should be better and Nico should be much better than he is. He failed to get enough hitters everyone thought they needed more than Belli and they did not get another big bat..That mistake is Really showing now. One hot bat can make a WORLD of difference in a line up..That one Quality hitter they did not get and they may have five or more wins now.

But the point is that if you multiply your pain and frustration by 7, (for the amount of decades), you've equaled mine.

Are you surprised they're in last ? I'm not . This team has no direction and no leadership. . Their so called leader is a big mouth that can't hold up hiis end of the deal , their leading hitter is at .267 and most are below .225 their lousey bullpen is the worst collection of bums I've ever seen , what a bunch of slugs . Their catcher belongs on some American Legion team and yet he's in in the damn lineup every damn day . The manager is an overrated imposter that hasn't done a damn thing to earn his bloated salary, after stabbing David Ross in the back to get tne job . Jed Hoyer has been a disappointment for years now ,while he feeds us the BS about patience and their overrated overhyped farm system . The only bright spot on the entire team has been a high quality starting rotation that doesn't deserve the lack of support they get from that impotent offense and little league bullpen . And lastly , shame on Ricketts for allowing this shitshow to continue . Have a little respect for the fans that fill your ballpark and your wallet .

I think Ricketts is fine as an owner. He did save Wrigley Field and spent a bundle doing it. And he brought that elusive a world series win, although I'm disappointed he wasn't able to get a second with that core group. Beggars can't be choosers and all that. But it wasn't for lack of trying because he did invest a lot of money in player contracts. But the real problems are Carter and Jed. Both have to go. They had their chance and failed. Get someone else in there. Anyway, Ricketts won't be selling his baby the Cubs anytime soon, so it's silly to even entertain the notion.

@naturallawman2965
@naturallawman2965 7 ай бұрын
Yeah, I remember Chip's days with the Cubs. These guys are a bit young. That was certainly "a Chip joke". He can be like that. Especially with Steve Stone. Chip has been very honest that Harry was not well-thought of by his father Skip. Harry kind of abandoned him. The "proud image" of Caray's presented in the mid 90s, shortly before Chip was hired to do Cubs' Road games for 1998, Chip said was to be closer with Harry and get to know him, but unfortunately Harry passed and Chip was thrust into being the Cubs' new play-by-play man, while carrying a mantle of a man he barely knew. Skip, Harry's son, had only recently (mid 90s) reconnected with Harry, and thus Chip too, and the ice was thawing. If I remember correctly, Harry marrying Dutchie (Harry's widow) is what got them together. She kind of scolded Harry about making amends in his life about his past mistakes before he was gone. Despite Chip growing up in St. Louis a Cards fan, and knowing Harry called Cards games on the radio for them, Chip said he didn't actually meet Harry until he was 9 years old, despite him being "grandpa" and listening to his voice on the radio. These are the reasons Chip went to Atlanta and work his Skip and why Chip has been so overly supportive of his sons, specifically Chris, becoming the Radio play-by-play man for the A's.

Boog and his analytics is why I watch MLB TV but listen to Pat Hughes call the game.

Why is Oh For Morel batting 2nd? Why is Oh For Hoerner batting at ball? Time for Matt Shaw?

I agree. If you keep him in the lineup, he needs to be 7th or 8th till he gets some confidence. I do believe Hoener is just in a slump and will come out of it (he has been hurt also). Personally, I'd have PCA leading off with Hoener or Tachman 2nd (more likely Tachman until Hoerner heats up a little)

when the cubs stink, the last thing I want is some sort of tired fake comeback streak. Just lose a whole bunch, get a top 10 pick. Try again next year, hopefully without Jed.

Again…. No excuses but seriously, I’m sick and tired of the warning track power and absolute hard hitting lasers straight to defenders and OFers making brick wall catches, Wisdom and Hoerner have just missed homers a few times. It’s MIND BOGGLING how bad defense is. It all makes sense that Dansby has taken a step back step on defense because first base is still a position in training with Busch and Wisdom. I cringe anytime I see Wisdom with a glove. Dansby had Freeman and Olson to pick his shit and now it’s glaring.

Pretty soon we're going to see the Chicago Cubs playing against the Savannah Bananas cuz this team is a joke right now. I love the Cubs I had high hopes and now I can't even watch them because it's always a disappointment. Hopefully they'll turn it around.

The start of the season thought this team would win 84 games the way things are going not sure they will be close to 500 this team need more than one bat and one reliever too much for in season moves it would be a mistake to deplete the farm system because the asking price will be way too much !!!

I’ve been saying for a while now that this team is bad. Now, I’m at this team is a disaster. I hadn’t seen the ninth and predicted before watching highlights that they threatened but fell short, cuz it’s what they do. They are like watching Groundhog Day, except they never learn from game to game. I have zero expectations for the rest of this season.

Besides being a lousy team what the heck is with the organization having the game on Fathers Day not being aired on their own Marquises network and on ROKU instead . Just asking .

Hopefully we win tomorrow!! Great show today! Haha I’ll make it look better! Here I go… Craig Counsell looks so bad, and his team looks so bad, that he looks like he is a double agent. He looks unhappy. He wants to go back to Milwaukee, and I think he might give up the money and do so. But he won’t get the job there, bc obviously it was Pat Murphy. Let’s make a deal. A good old fashioned Major League Deal!! Send Nico to LAD to play SS while Mookie is down. Trade Morel and/or Wisdom to Houston. They’ll do well there with the short porch. And call up Brian Cashman…and tell him you have a 4A 1st baseman that loves line drives to right field. And I’d be willing to bet that Matt Mervis would hit 7/8 HR’s at Yankee stadium alone, due to the shallow RF. Or Boston. Which I think he was auditioning for Breslow and Co. while he was there. He should easily hit 30/35/EVEN 40 Homers with Pesky Pole. And when they pitch away? Bang it off the Monster!! Oh and send Nero’s back to Houston!! Send Happ to Pittsburgh for Hayes. And you better let Vazquez play before you give up on another regular MLB player for the Royals, Rays, Tigers, …I could go on
