The second train departing is one of the best Amtrak videos, ever. I find myself waving at the engineer every time.

The first and last time I rode the SWC pass this depot, was in January 1995 heading towards Chicago! I was shocked and surprised of me riding the SWC on #3, for the first time, returning to Kansas in 2007, that Amtrak no longer used this station! BNSF should have allowed Amtrak to keep using this station, I'd wondered why when I left Chicago on train #3, why we didn't head straight to Joliet, on the Chilli sub towards Galesburg...I knew then something was a bit different with the route between 1995-2007! Great video though of the last moments of this station in use!👍

That's amazing! On the old, non quiet zoned Santa Fe through there! And an F40 as well! Man, I wish I was alive in the 1990's.

From Santa Fe tracks to Burlington Northern tracks because it's a BNSF merger with Burlington Northern, the Southwest Chief is switched over to BN Rails between Chicago and Galesburg

A nice rare video of the old ATSF Galesburg depot, prior to the Cameron Connector opening which took the Southwest Chief off the Chillicothe Subdivision.

The Mayan train looks like a big project. I hope the environmental impacts are low and economic impacts are great. Good luck.
