Well said. During I believe it was the Bills first drive a DPI was called against KC that gave Buffalo the first down except during that play the Bills O-linemen Connor McGovern was committing a blatant and egregious hands to the face penalty while blocking for Allen’s pocket. The penalties should have offset but they only called the DPI and the Bills continued their drive to success. That wasn’t a deciding factor in the game but you can bet your bottom dollar if the teams were reversed the country would have melted down with more unhinged “Chiefs get all the calls” takes by people who hate the Chiefs more than they like their own team.

I think the defensive play calling was not up to par for this game, and they all seemed be just a step behind when tackling. Frankly, it's a good time to have all these issues exposed and address them before the playoffs. They may need to stick to 3 and 4 TE sets to help protect Mahomes and script some more plays for DHop. The Bills had a very good game plan and were executed well. If we didn't have so many 3 and outs in the second half, it would be a different story.
@rustyreese40062 ай бұрын
I don't think it was the play calls that were the problem. I think it was the fact that every blitz was picked up perfectly by the bills except one. The bills looked well prepared for anything that the defense tried, and attacking Johnson was brilliant. Cole is definitely right about the execution by both teams. They were just better in this one. And who knows how much our coaches were holding back. I'm sure they weren't giving everything away when they know that they will have to play them in the playoffs.

It was interesting to me in the poll that only 7% chose D-line. It was the lowest of any of the other choices. Someone on another channel talked about this D-line issue and they brought up some interesting observations. They showed statistics where the sack totals for the chiefs have drastically dropped off from last year. They pointed at not the inside but the outside rush is where the issue is. I agree totally with their analysis and it is backed by a lot of stats. I just feel like if you bring QB pressure that helps the secondary a ton and people don't talk about that.

Conner got beat like a drum all game, and Johnson was torched like a crack pipe at 2 am. If you look at the defense pressure on the quarterback it was very obvious that Mahomes was pressured a lot more than Allen. This to me is the biggest reason they lost. When you face a really good quarterback you need to be able to pressure that quarterback consistently. A lot of Spagnuolo's success has been how he uses the defense to pressure the quarterback. Most teams struggle to convert long 3rd downs against KC because of the pressure. The 3 teams in the AFC that give the Chiefs the most trouble are Bengals,Bills, and Ravens. They all have very good quarterbacks and the pressure is what determines how successful they are against these teams. On the flip side the teams that do the best against the Chiefs are the ones that bring the most pressure against Mahomes.

When you look at Nazeeh's coverage (i.e. that Amari Cooper one hand grab,) he's in good position most of the time. I remember seeing one where he couldn't get his hips around, but most of it was just good throws and better catches not bad play. Think the pressures are going to get better once Charles is back. The only one I saw was Worthy's downfield success. Everything else is bad. Mahomes throwing off time, late, and inaccurate. O-line failing to block 3/4 of the time. Run game is being abandoned again (looking at you, Andy). CBs can no longer keep up with coverage in any formation. D-line has no pressure and can never get home on the QB. Opposing QBs can run on this defense at will. LBs and Safeties are somewhere within the bottom 5 in tackling ability in the league. I see way more problems than what we had last year, and it's only getting worse each game.

Good fair Anaysis. Simply put. They played better than us.

I don't think their weaknesses were hidden. It's just a question of whether or not they can overcome them and get better every week.

my two cent 4:57 (if you reset video speed .05) you can track the ball (prior to) leaving Mahomes hand. Worthy & Mahomes still needs to work on their chemistry, its def obvious. In that timeline there's two way of looking at it.... Worthy POV : hesitated to either continue on the path he's on (ball is in the air) or change route and hit the post (ball is in the air!)? Cant afford to hesitate in the pro (rook)! Mahomes POV : Two defenders covering the top, so mahomes lead him outside, away from both defenders. At the end of the day, as vet Mahomes needs to re-adjust himself for the rookie ffs! :) and for glass half full, we sure have a better WR this season than we did last season!!

Nahhh the OPI should've been called because it was intentional. #13 on the bills went straight for Nazeeh as the mesh route started to play out.

We need a LT extremely bad!! But hats off to the Bills and Josh Allen they played GREAT.

Pat needs to make better decisions, plain and simple. The throw to Worthy was too far towards the sideline, and had way too much air under it, put that throw on a rope and on the hash mark and X goes for his second touchdown of the day. Hold the ball and take the sack on the first drive or just don't float it and the first pick doesn't happen. Defense had a lot of issues, not the least of which was play calling, too much soft zone coverage on a team that is built to just find the open man and dink & dunk their way down the field. Yeah, guys were behind in coverage all day, but it was usually not when they were in man coverage. That soft zone killed them! Play calling was atrocious on both sides of the ball though, not just defense! The offense was acting like they'd never even heard of play action, the way they've run the ball this year you've GOTTA use the play action more than 3-5 times a game! I just hope people start actually taking accountability and not just talking about it and they take this loss for the wake up call it was meant to be and they start playing like the champions they are

Secondary missing too many tackles, Bolton could have stopped two TD's. Mahomes getting too much pressure in the pocket, the way to fix it is run the ball more, did we even have one screen pass? Play calling is mediocre, and execution should be better from 2 time champs. I hope Pop gets healthy soon.

Mahomes Needs to have a better connection with his offensive line as well as his rookie receivers in order to have a successful season

Also we need a new wide receiver coach. Our receiver room is shaky when we have a new wide receiver coach these past two years.

LT definitely has to hold up more. The defense is gonna be better, Pass rush will definitely help the CB2 spot.

4:23 I was frustrated at the time Worthy couldn't get his feet in. I'm sure it's something he will drill in practice and get better at in time but my goodness when I saw that clip on Twitter just how wide open he was, a lot of this goes on Pat too. He was open forever and Pat threw it way, way too close to the sideline. Terrible throw. Terrible toe tap on Worthy's part. It's regular season so we'll see what happens in playoffs but in this game Pat kinda stunk and Allen was MVP level. If the Chiefs want to beat the Bills in the playoffs, we need that narrative to swap. This team can't win a SB if Pat is just an okay QB. The D with the lack at CB outside of Trent doesn't look like the type of D to carry a team to a SB win like they did last year. We need Pat to step it up.

If you look at the first INT you can see Mahomes has to throw extra high due to a LB jumping in front of him at the last second. Idk what Patrick said about it, but it looks to me that spy forced him to lob it higher than he wanted.

It is really hard to fix issues when you win in spite of them. This loss should have happened a few weeks ago so they could correct. Now it might take longer than people are suspecting.

I know Kareem Hunt is a little banged up, but I felt the Chiefs didn't stick with the running game enough against the Bills. You want to slow down an over-aggressive pass rush? Run right at it. We have the best interior 3 OL in the NFL and Buffalo has been gashed by running backs this season.

Chiefs got a hard road to the number one seed. 4 of their last 7 games are against playoff teams. Two are division rivals. The other two are conference rivals. Playoff football basically starts for the Chiefs in two weeks minus the Browns game. Chiefs have to play the Texans, Steelers, Broncos, and Chargers. Pretty much the only team in danger of missing the playoffs is the Broncos, but they still have a 62% chance unless they lose to the Raiders, and i doubt that's going to happen. That said, if they stay healthy, they're gonna be sharp as hell going into the playoffs.

It’s exactly what I have observed the 2nd half was not a mormal half for the Cheifs they did not play their hand of offense, not throwing to Kelce, Deandre & Worthy saving them for future games. They played their 2nds instead including shuster. No better way to give the 2nd’s reps & throws to see how they were coming along then against a good apponent. Shuster, Steele, Watson, the new tightend & gray. Very clever by Andy Reid. The you had defence so the same thing. They knew Josh was going to run they wanted to see how their players would go in tackling Josh & see how the Bills coaches run play would play out.
