As an American living abroad from a multi racial family, I understand Kamala but I can see how many Americans, who don't travel abroad or live in sheltered environments might have trouble understanding the nuances of multiculturalism. That coupled with unexamined mysogny could make her seem sus. That's a shame. She's what we need right now to help heal the country from narcissistic abuse.
@chickenfishhybrid44
@chickenfishhybrid44 24 күн бұрын
As if you need to travel abroad to be familiar with multi racial people lmao. It's more common in the US than alot of rich, developed countries. This comment is a perfect example of the type of attitude that fuels the Trump base and at least partially is what drives a lot of the average persons aversion to the Democratic party.
@valeriebickford3329
@valeriebickford3329 24 күн бұрын
@chickenfishhybrid44 interesting, you got triggered. Was a fact not an intended slur. Look up the stats. I could say the fact that you took it as a slur IS the reason the left and the right can't have civil conversations. The expecting of being looked down upon when there was no such intention.
@chickenfishhybrid44
@chickenfishhybrid44 20 күн бұрын
@@valeriebickford3329 more like it's just ignorant or wrong. Inter racial people are not exactly rare in the US.. again, I'd say they're at least as common in the US as most other places, if not more common than alot of places.

She is someone who slept her way to the top of Cali politics and then failed miserably in her attempt at becoming Pres., gaining less than 1% of the vote in the Demo primaries. She is an incoherent, markedly uncharismatic, power hungry, non-competent ideologue. The Fweedom quote is plagiarized from MLK. Andray Domise, a contributing editor of the Canadian publication Maclean's, noted that Harris' story resembled one told by King in a 1965 interview published in Playboy. "I will never forget a moment in Birmingham when a White policeman accosted a little Negro girl, seven or eight years old, who was walking in a demonstration with her mother," King said at the time. "'What do you want?' the policeman asked her gruffly, and the little girl looked at him straight in the eye and answered, 'Fee-dom.' She couldn't even pronounce it, but she knew. It was beautiful! Many times when I have been in sorely trying situations, the memory of that little one has come into my mind, and has buoyed me."

I loved this interview but have to take issue with Tal's summary at the end. I don't see it as a two issue election, that's so Washington and the two party system. We now have things like the Supreme Court and its imperative in keeping a democracy or allowing an authoritarian to rule. We have huge differences on taxation and trade. We have a situation with accepting agression by foreign actors and the tinder box increasing in the Middle East. We have efforts to combat misinformation/disinformation coming into sharp focus and the fight against those bad actors that may go against the grain of freedom of speech. This is an extreme time where nuance and diplomacy in a leader as opposed to slinging from the hip and 'feels' can and most likely will be world shattering or at least have that potential.

The Espinoza case, where she didn’t seek the death penalty for a cop killer, because she didn’t believe in it, yet completley reversing her stance in the Julia Miller case where she argued before the 9th Circuit of Appeals to defend it after a judge overturned the death penalty. How her office wrongfully convicted Jamal Truelove and fought his exoneration despite evidence clearing him. Using prisoners as slave labor, As California attorney general, she spent years subverting a 2011 Supreme Court ruling requiring the state to reduce its prison population. The overseeing judicial panel nearly found the state in contempt of court. Her exchanging sexual favors for cash, gifts, political appointments and positions with California Assembly leader and San Francisco mayor Willie Brown. How about her 93% turnover rate in staff as vice president? There are many more topics I would have bandied about. Kamala Harris is closer to the warden in Shawshank Redemption than whatever this bull shit is being being spouted.

She did not talk about her diminished mental acuity. It appears that she was sharper when she was a low-level District Attorney and it appears that as she has risen through the various political positions she's held she has gotten dumber. And I don't mean to be demeaning however when she speaks how she answers questions posed to her makes her look inauthentic and unrelatable and she seems to get stuck in this loop of using the same word over and over again and she starts her word-salad responses.
