This is a full review of the new Alpine Eagle from Chopard, a serious contender in the much contested integrated bracelet - luxury sports watch market. A seminal piece for Chopard and part of the launch of 10 references.

My favourite watch right now. This watch really speaks to me. Tried it on and the sizing is perfect, it looks incredible.

I absolutely have to tell you that the veneer of this box is in fact no oak at all but maple veneer glued on a meterial similar to MDF but harder and called Valchromat. I can asure you this because i work in a french factory were these boxes are made...

@@reelrocknrolla4251 Why spend 20 000.00$ for a recycled steel watch ? you could start a business with that kind of money

Looks even better than ap. Imagine if Patek Philippe released it. Or Rolex

Bracelet looks great, wish it was tapered more though. Also, can’t find info on aftermarket leather straps, i assume there’s possible options?

Back in 1998 I saw the saint moritz, but didn't win me, so I bought the first generation overseas. But this alpine eagle is much better and I think I like it more than the new overseas...

Good review, but he missed the details about the screws around the bezel! He could’ve mentioned that as it’s a good points win in that dept. over rivals like AP Royal Oak.

I like the watch. However, I wished it came with a rubber strap similar to the overseas.

better this or explorer I 39mm?
@Wristwatchism4 жыл бұрын
Riccardo Pinfari THAT is a good question... this feels more like 39 on the wrist, and is supremely comfortable. It is a lot dressier than the Explorer, but also a bolder choice.. try it on, Riccardo 👍🏼😊🙌🏼

@@Wristwatchism I have the brand new explorer I, and I was uncertain if ttrade it for the chopard... hard question ;)

By taking design cues from the Royal Oak, I think it places itself lower than the AP. But that's not the first time a designer was inspired by another. It's mostly an authentic compliment to the Royal Oak.

Marcus Art great point🙌🏼

@@celaltapan4212 the Moritz came out in 1980 which was after the Royal Oak. It's pretty obvious they borrowed design cues from the RO.

I like the watch. However, I do not think it will age well because it doesn’t look timeless. Also, I would worry about how easily the bezel would show scratches like the AP RO. Thank you for the unboxing and review.
@Wristwatchism4 жыл бұрын
Tahir Ali that`s a good point, Tahir, Noted🙂
@dimitrisbastas7394 жыл бұрын
Surely will be scratched easily because of mat finish..So it demands carefull use.
@Kcseales4 жыл бұрын
It actually doesn't scratch as easy as the Royal Oak. The steel is 10 times more stronger and more durable.
@Pulsonar2 жыл бұрын
I think the ‘special’ Chopard metal should be tough enough to handle scratches well. ‘Doesn’t look timeless’? In what way? I think you’re completely wrong there, in 30 years time I doubt if anyone could say that the Chopard AE represents the style cues of the 2020s. IMO Timelessness is basically an absence of contemporary style or popular fashion cues of the period the item was designed in. The watch is quite unique in character and easily qualifies for that, and even the 70s integrated watch design umbrella that it probably comes under is now considered a classic theme.

@@Pulsonar Two years since I posted my opinion, I should update it. I bought the watch earlier this year from the Chopard Boutique in Costa Mesa and am very happy with the purchase.

If your going to do a video on a very detailed object such as a high end watch you need that video to be at least 1080p. There's no reason to have less resolution. 👎
