He's a 60 yr old agnostic and this show definately has his wheels turning. Im praying 🙏 it leads him to turn his life over to Jesus Christ and accept Him as his Lord and Savior.

The only caution i have, which i pray against, is that people will associate the embellished parts with the Truth of the Bible which is living and active and does have power. There is so much good being done thru this series so i pray the Word would no come back void, but will take the Gospel of our amazing Savior Jesus to the ends of the earth! Troy, your girls are funny and bravely awesome😍🤪. She's absolutely right about the need for us to read the Bible. You wouldn't believe how many people have been deceived by others because they listen to and believe the same Mac and Cheese, sprite and more, all because they do not read the Bible for themselves. It is soooo mind boggling to me that in several countries around the world people would literally give an arm or risk their lives for a copy of the Bible, yet we on the free world refuse to acknowledge its ability to literally change our "stinking thinking" and bad theology. God help us 🙏🏾. Incidentally, among the millions who have watched The Chosen, are persons who have said that they are newly inspired to read their Bibles. Isn't that suppen?

I think it's important to wonder how the deciples must have felt and thought about things etc as it makes it more personal ....... and wonder how I would have instinctively reacted to or done, it's in a way discovering our own heart ...... rather than parroting religious expectations etc. I believe God chose and assigned Dallas to do this series, at this time, helping us to look deeper into the real lives & fears & issues of Yashua & the deciples ....... Seeing them as real people, no different to us, & seeing Jesus's heart and His true love care & desire for us.

Movies can impossibly be one to one copies of the scripture. We don't know exactly what people felt in certain situations, how they behaved or reacted, how society treated them, there is some cultural context that really adds important understanding to a story but are not found in scripture, that's why many bibles have sidenotes and commentaries. We don't even know how people looked like or what clothes they would've exactly worn, for some characters the bible doesn't mentioned whether they came from a more wealthy or poor background. But most important of all, how can a human actor impersonate the Messiah, imitate Jesus, portray God? I don't think any actor can display Jesus in a way, that truly does him justice. So every movie, cartoon, series, etc. is a creative way of sharing the testament rather than a 100% realistic, truthful, detailed portrayal of how things exactly played out. That's just impossible. So I don't understand how people criticize "the chosen" for not being accurate to scripture in detail, but then watch other movies and shows that also impossibly can be accurate in detail. I also think people are forgetting that the point of a Christian movie/show is not to replace the scripture!🤦‍♀️😅 If you want to know the scripture, read the Bible! Christian movies and music are here to remind people of God, draw people closer to him and worship him. 🙌

Hi, Troy. I think modern movies based on books are becoming more and more liberal with re-interpreting the prime sources. Try to find one Lord of the Rings that has Frodo being saved by Glorfindel as per the book instead of Legolas (1980s cartoon) or Arwen (LOTR movie). [Side note: Glorfindel is never used again by Tolkien so writers/directors would just be ironing out having to explain a new character for no reason] I think it would be beneficial for people to read the corresponding Bible passages after watching any Chosen episode. For example, with the Centurion in Capernaum, The Chosen shows some passages from Luke but instead takes the script directly from Matthew. In Matthew the centurion goes up to Jesus himself, while Luke says he sends 2 sets of messengers, the first of Jewish elders who told Jesus he was a good man who funded their temple, and the second to tell Jesus the Centurion considered himself unworthy to have Jesus under his roof. Personally I think "The Chosen" has a far more human Jesus, such as him saying "I have it" and then giving the Beatitudes to Matthew. In the Bible, heavenly powers are never "at a loss and then have an 'aha' moment", they always come up with things as needed. But a far more human Jesus is not necessarily a bad thing, especially if it opens up people to Jesus' way of doing things. We can worry about reversing time and multiplying mac'n'cheese later.

I haven’t watched it and probably won’t. I did see The Passion of the Christ, but I really don’t like watching acting based on the Bible because it’s never 100% correct. The problem is what you see and hear leaves impressions on your mind that you can’t erase, and I don’t want false impressions getting mixed together with truth. I have read classic novels like Little Women and Anne of Green Gables and loved them. Then I watched the movies and tv series and loved them even more. Now I no longer remember the novels and how they differ from the movies and tv series.

I used to love to watch the chosen until I saw the seen with little James where they had Jesus deny healing for him. As a mother of a child with special needs who is believing that God wants him well and has paid for his healing that to me was a faith killer. I decided to only watch things that are based wholly on the truth of the scriptures and not made up man made stories. It confuses people.

@rose.888 I haven't really watched any movies about Jesus lately, but I do listen to Andrew Womacks teachings. I believe that he teaches the true gospel. Unfortunately, I'm not sure there are many shows that are in full alignment with gods word, but I would stay away from the ones that fabricate stories and put words in Jesus mouth that he never said. I remember there was a series a few years ago that came out around Easter. I think it was called "AD the bible continues" I think it was it was a spin off from the series called"The bible" I remember them being more accurate but it's been a long time since I've seen them.

Its not unbiblical it just an express artistic way to show humanness -real humanity. Those are the only things imparted. But the stories show all the power of God and his love. Jesus loves The Chosen. It helps those who feel disgraced etc. We all need him. YOUR DAUGHTERS CORRECT HAMBURGERS ARE MANNA, just saying. Jesus used parables dont forget 😊😊😊

Are church buildings built and maintained by only Christians? Or are some of the contractors that build and work on the buildings unbelievers? We don't ask pastors for a list of people who built the building. But if the pastor or leadership are not Christian, then something is seriously wrong. Why would a show like this be any different? As long as the writers and directors are Christian (which they are), I'm okay with it. :)

I want to like this video but I simply cannot. The little girl and her weird comments are simply waaayyyy too distracting plus your reactions to her comments doesn’t sit well with me. Otherwise, it could be a well thought out video.
