This shows a realistic expectations of following Christ. Just because we are Christians doesn’t mean that we are immune to pain and sometimes God doesn’t always answer our prayers the way that we want him to.. Jesus could heal anyone but sometimes he doesn’t. You all watch the scene between Jesus and Little James and the scene with Peter losing his baby. This is no different.

@@deb9806 John the Baptist didn’t get resurrected after he was killed and Jesus could have saved him , but he didn’t. Sometimes death is also a part of God‘s plan. There are so many Christians who worship God when things are good and easy, but it takes true devotion to him even when things don’t always work out and many fall away

@@milesdavisahead Yes John's time was done, he led the way and even Joseph's. I wont ever be 100% on board with making up a fiance and killing her off when he asked him, John didn't ask Jesus to save him, he knew it was time. Joseph knew his time to raise Jesus was done. I doubt if this was "real" he would have said No but it doesn't matter. It's just a TV show and sometimes no matter how much you like a show, it's not every second.

Brilliant, concise explanation of what this Episode, and what this Series is about. Yes, it is fictionalized - not a docudrama. I have no criticisms because a writer gets to take fiction in any direction they choose. The viewing audience is not crafting this storyline. Lives are being touched, conversations are being had, understanding is being enlightened, and people are turning to the pages of the Bible to read what is actually documented. The various criticisms pale in comparison to the good. We don't find Ramah on the pages of scripture, and we no longer have her in this Series, but her story tied in wonderfully well with the theme of this Episode: prayers are not always immediately answered in the way we hope, and the blind see when those with sight are blind.

Can you imagine how Jesus must have felt, when many would approach him to perform certain miracles. God didn't put Jesus on this earth to please everyone and grant them their wishes and wants. Far from that. As The Chosen depicted that Jesus didn't come to bring peace, but to save us, which would tear families, friends, unions, and anyone who chooses to follow him. To this day even. But even in this storyline shows that this may have happened in some way, that tore Jesus apart internally. OMG, the emotions of Thomas and Jesus here, absolutely brought me to tears. I know it took away from the plot of Jesus and the Pharisees, but for me, that last scene, hit me as I feel I went thru such a devastating loss with my own love, and I couldn't understand it as we were faithful catholics or at least I thought. This last scene, had plenty to say.

Where in the Bible did he turn someone down in person? He might not fully cure something, poetic licence was used on The Chosen with James and Eden, but in the Bible? He cured or touched thousands in person.

Killing her off was just easy and now we have Thomas sad and her dad angry. (I don't blame him) Having an unmarried daughter go with a Messiah who didn't save her but did others, how does that make you feel as a parent?

I actually liked the parallel between David losing his baby and Thomas losing Ramah. God the father and God the son have the same will, the same nature, and are consistent in not saving every single believer. In this life bones will still break.

The issue here is the games being played with Jesus' CHARACTER. I'll repaste the comment I made elsewhere here: Even as a Catholic, I've always defended the Chosen for their creative liberties from the attacks of others, some of whom are Catholic, but I cannot defend this episode. Nope! This was incredibly in bad taste, not because Rama died but the way these people seem to just casually project their own very flawed character traits onto Christ. I can defend Jesus choosing not to heal Rama (perhaps), but I cannot defend him standing there watching her die from a distance and not even giving her a single word of comfort as she died, not kneeling over her, closing her eyes, praying for her as she transitioned to the other world, assuring her that he would make all things well and this was not the end, and kissing her forehead as she died. He. Was. Her. Rabbi!!!!!!! If he had prayed then opened his eyes after getting the "Not this time" from his Father, then comforted her this way, it'd be sad but still in keeping with his character. But the way they did it feels like a Hollywood gimmick for shock value. Heck, even our flawed, sinful priests know how to comfort a dying person better than the Chosen's Jesus did in this episode! Did Jesus behave like Rama's spiritual Father or even her Rabbi in this episode? Nope. Think of Aragon comforting Boromir as he died after sacrificing his life to save the hobbits at the end of the Fellowship of the Rings. That's how a good and holy person treats a dying person. They don't stand at a distance and watch them go as if they're a stranger watching the scene of an accident by the side of the road. The Chosen had Our beloved beautiful Lord behaving like the Priest and pharisee he warned about in his parable of the Good Samaritan instead of like the Good Samaritan, and this with his own dying disciple! Not even a stranger beaten by thieves on the road. Honestly, shame on them! They injected their own character flaws onto Jesus in this episode and had him acting in a way contrary to how the Bible and even their own show has portrayed him. Rama was his disciple! She left her own Father and everything to follow him and he became her spiritual Father, killed basically for him in this episode, and yet he reacts worse than even a basic friend would react. I'm not angry about her death. I'm angry about the gimmicky nonsense they seem to be getting up to with Jesus' character. What Priest did they consult for this episode? They claim they consult theologians, pastors, and priests. All I can say is if the Priest okayed this episode, knowing the work priests regularly do with the dying in hospitals and other places, shame on him, too! Someone elsewhere said, given we've already done this before with Little James and Peter's baby, what was the point? It's like they saw it worked before and just can't be creative? Another comment under another video suggested they could've had Reyma married off by her Father to another, richer man. She would not have returned to Capernaum but sent a letter to an eager, hopeful Thomas telling him she had seen her Father's wisdom and chosen to go with it and allow Thomas to follow Jesus and hoped he would understand. Jesus would've accepted this and not agreed with Thomas about "doing something." Then this would've been about Thomas's broken heart and Jesus loving him back to Spiritual health instead of Jesus being portrayed like a bad shepherd.

I agree that the end of this scene was poorly done. I think that Jesus acted out of character, not giving comfort to Ramah as she died. The comparison you made with the scene from the "Fellowship of the Rings" is a very good one and I completely agree. I hope that future episodes will be as thought provoking as the ones before Season 4 episode 3.

I agree wholeheartedly with your comment. This is something that has made me very angry too. I see far too much of Dallas injected into Jesus. In season one when hardly anyone was watching we got to know Dallas quite well and his personality in the after discussions. And i can LITERALLY SEE Dallas's personality in Jesus's casual dialogue. When Jesus constantly comments about SOON!!! Its ridiculous because Jesus would not do that - BUT DALLAS WOULD. P.s. in episode 4 Jesus jokes TWICE AGAIN about this stupid idea of SOON!!! Im sick of it. This isn't remotely something that any of them would joke about. The joke about SOON needs 2000 years become a joke. I hate this constant injection of Dallas humor. Dallas seems to be so focused on making Jesus HUMAN and relatable that he is short-sighting His DIVINE nature. He is bringing Jesus down to BUDDY status. Dallas is also keeping all Jesus's discussions to a minimum. I constantly feel like I'm holding my breath because he is never allowed to let it rip. He just got started into the confrontation of the Pharisees and even Jesus said I AM JUST GETTING STARTED- but immediately he was cut off. Jesus spoke SEVEN WOES to the pharisees and in this discussion he used 2. I was so disappointed by it. It just feels that Jesus is being muzzled.

Exactly. I hope they didn't jump the shark with this one. Adding dialog not found in the Bible is one thing, but changing the character of who Jesus is in this is quite another. He seemed to accidentally cause her death then stood back and let it happen without even comforting anyone.

Dallas said this was planned since they came up with the character. I'm genuinely curious to see if Rahma will be among those who are resurrected after Jesus' death when the 'tombs are opened' in Matthew 27: 52. It would add an emotional element to what otherwise would be a bunch of strangers coming back from the dead. It would also back up Jesus' statement to Thomas 'it's not her time."

Ramah’s death was so controversial because of how it was executed. What got me wondering all night was why would Thomas drag her RIGHT PAST Quintus, an angry Roman with his sword out, with everyone knowing dang well that they were known followers/students of Jesus?😭😭😭 I also heard others complaining about how Jesus reacted to her death. How he just stood there. Even though she had to die, he could’ve went over there to close her eyes and properly send her off to Heaven, comforting Thomas who’d just lost the love of his life. Nevertheless, I have to remind myself that this never actually happened because Ramah isn’t in the Bible and was a creative choice, which relieves me

dallas actually answered that question in the live streamed ans said he was going back from where he came from and was so focused on getting them out that he wasnt aware of everything happening around him and u can see how focused he is in the episode

I think Dallas said Jon asked how to play it but he seemed "off". I didn't like it, the whole episode was leading up to it, so much attention on them and and the gift and Jesus acting odd when they asked him about blessing them. It's not like they weren't in the shows before but it seemed much more intense. When Thomas was looking for her, you could feel the moment coming like in those scary movies. I haven't disliked much and I don't have to like the scene, not my show.

It was like Thomas was never to marry and he knew it and it was an accident which only effected he r and fatally of course.. On earth, not later, Jesus met hundreds of thousands and helped them. He couldn't see them all but he never said no to the leper or blind man. To Thomas? Just felt odd. If he could draw on one case in the Bible, not later after he died, that happened

Actually, in the King David scenes, David did tell his servants that this was about his own repentance. So it is there. I also note that David tells Bathsheba that they will both see the child after this life. That same message is for Thomas and for Peter and Eden.

But my point was that no Israelite believed that there was life in the Grave. King David himself wrote: “For in death there is no mention of you; In the Grave who will praise you?” - Psalm 6:5 Jesus own words: “No man has ascended into heaven but the one who descended from heaven, the Son of Man.” - John 3:13 Jesus’ words about John the Baptist: “There has not been raised up anyone greater than John the Baptist, but a lesser person in the Kingdom of the heavens is greater than he is.” - Matthew 11:11. 🙏🏽🙏🏾🙏🏿🙏

@@debrajessen7975no saduccee believed in life after death. The Pharisees for all their faults did believe in a resurrection. Jesus talked about the resurrection and then demonstrated it. The essences certainly believed in and so did many other Jews. Eternal life in the kingdom wasn’t a new concept.

The way Jonathan Roumie portrays the foreshadowing of Ramah's fate was incredible. You see in the scenes beforehand, that he (as Jesus) is somewhat reluctant to get excited about their union (Thomas & Ramah). What I didn't like about the final scene is that it seems that it's actually on Jesus, because he brought the crowd together and stirred them up with his message. It actually gave me a little bit of 'GoT' vibes, with the shock effect of the death. And yes, it distracted from the main message Jesus was preaching. Perhaps one could put the following spin on Ramah's fate: Thomas seemed more devoted to her than to Jesus and His mission. Not that God is vindictive, but as one of the 12, Thomas knew what he was signing up for. (To take the Gospel to the ends of the earth). And perhaps Ramah would have 'stood in the way' of that. It certainly starts a discussion around that...and God's perfect will for each and every one of us.

It seemed mean to me. I don't want to think Jesus knew and let it happen. I get we don't get what we want all the time, she never existed etc. but why show them so much, just to make it more emotional? Why was she the only one hurt and so severely? It seemed off to me. Jesus cured everyone he came in contact with, it was exhausting for him. He couldn't reach or cure everyone he didn't see,but she was there. It almost seemed like he didn't want Thomas married.

Yes, I was sad… not because we lost Ramah's character but how that last episode brought to the fore the reality of (1) losing the one we love, and (2) how fleeting life is. I felt this (loss) more than once in my life, but the 2nd has a profound impact on me more than anything. And I thank God for the life He has given me. Because even in our head if we prioritise something other than yeshua; our brain automatically leads us to destruction. It's similar to you attract what you are😢 not in a new age sense. But looking back into my life I was always protected when i was in deep meditaion or communion with God and God's word. There was an instance when someone in my class threw something from behind it would have hit me but somehow I caught that object in time subconsciously. Other kids were impressed like I have some power..... they took her out because she did a show where she is l** or something which infuruated the viewers so she is gone by this season. But the narrative he couldn't save is False. Whatever He wishes He can do. Only thing in human life he actually suffered with was disbelief of humans. I even feel a lot of agony in the garden came from he knew after the passion a lot will loose salvation because of disbelief.

Watch Dallas Jenkins explain this episode! How he tied Ramah's death to the fact that Jesus doesn't always heal or fix even when we beg him. And that Jesus may not have saved her life as Thomas pleaded but He saved her as she is, (as the story goes) in heaven with the Father. Yes... this story is not in the Bible but the message portrayed is very clear.

I like the part of Ramah. She added a young couple’s situation of being in love during first century Jewish culture. The rules for marriage were harsh and not anything like today’s culture. At least not like in this liberal society. Her death at this point was a shock but I think well written. Thomas has an important role going forward in his life. Only the Father knows what is right. To go forward with a wedding is not in the scripture nor in other sources that I’m aware of. I was wondering how the writers were going to work with that part of the story. Now we know. I will miss Ramah but she remains in our prayers. 🙏🏼

I guess that's why Thomas says, "Let us go to Jerusalem and die with Him." He either feels like he doesn't have anything to live for without Ramah or he figures he'll see her again in Heaven, or both.

Remember in the previous episode Jesus said He was here to bring a sword? And specifically pointing to the division created between Ramah and her father? Well, Quintus's sword will play a role in creating the division that leads to the cross.

I can't imagine him doing that to one of his apostles. He cured Peter's MIL and wouldn't have made any of them fall ill before he died. I can't recall or google anytime it is written a person wanted a favor and he just flat out said no

That was melodrama, I didn't shed a tear except one for Thomas in anger and I felt for Jon who looked so awkward. As a Catholic he knows the Bible and so does Dallas, there is nothing remotely like this there.

It was kind of a heartless interpretation. They have portrayed Jesus as crushed when something happens to loved ones, but one of his key disciples dying? And the fiancé of an apostle he supposedly just offered to give away? Not even shedding a tear? Ouch.

I feel like this almost set Jesus up to be a liar, just hear me out. Because He said He would be there at their wedding to give Rhamah away...so it's really rubs me the wrong way. Why would you tease this wedding for so long and never let it come to fruition.. We already had this theme of Jesus allowing death with Eden's baby..we didn't need it again.

The big thing to take away is Jesus is hurting too. Just like when we have pain, He sees our pain, he feels our pain and He has endured our pain. But our Father sees the big picture. We don't hardly ever understand it but He knows the plan that will forever be right for all of us. This is where Thomas will need to have his faith and trust in Jesus.

I was okay with it even if the execution was not how I would have done it. We sometimes forget that Jesus himself only did what the Father and Holy Spirit directed him to do. Regarding this story Jesus sadly tells Thomas that "It is not her time." As Believers, we experience tragedies, griefs and loss daily but we don't see things from God's vantage point and we don't understand why we have to sometimes go through these terrible things. Thankfully, we know that God in the long run brings good out of bad situations and He knows first hand what loss is,

Only thing that bothered me with the show. I am Catholic and will see what a priest review will say (many of them online) but I don't think we needed to see Jesus doesn't always heal, we know that but in his time on earth, he wouldn't deny. Peter MIL was cured, the baby never existed although some say he had a daughter later, James wasn't lame that we know but that was a good lesson. But to make up a fiance to kill her off? IDK, left me much less emotional because I saw it coming. It's about Jesus and they were spending a long time on Thomas and her and the gift and seeing her with chaperones and "looks" and asking a disturbed looking Jesus to stand up for them. All for a accidental stabbing? Only time I felt the show went for the typical, lure them in and then wham!. Being older than most, I've just seen it so many times, I felt it coming.

I like to think I'm fair in my critiques of the episodes (for the record I LOVE The Chosen, in whole). Episode one of this season was too disjointed for ME. This episode, like most people, took my breath away. I've had a day to think about it. For me this was important for me to see. We know how much Jesus loved Rama, yet He wouldn't resurrect her. Imagine if He would have. I would think every time someone I loved died---or when my time comes---"Well, I guess you have to be one of His favorites to be spared." To me this was truth. Reality. Real life. So few were resurrected in Scripture. Many healed of blindness, lameness and more, but few resurrected. It was hard to watch. I would have been like Thomas---I know You can do this!!!---yet accepting that God's ways are not ours is hard. And Jesus was obviously grieved. He didn't say "She's in a better place" in a flippant manner. One part I didn't understand, though. When Thomas was pleading for her, Jesus said it wasn't her time yet. Hmmm...then where exactly was she? Paradise like the thief on the cross?

I didn't like it because something that profound should have been in the Bible, makeup other things but not that Jesus didn't cure an apostles fiance. He granted favors to thousands, we will see examples of many who suffer, why that when no reference at all to the Bible? Dallas said in real life this happens all the time, it does, but we are talking about what Jesus did in the Bible and poetic license is fine but this much?

David sinned, yes. David was punished for his sin, yes. HE PRAYED/BEGGED FOR FORGIVENESS, but was denied. There are consequences for actions, however, GOD DOES AS HE PLEASES. We don't know why Jesus didn't resurrect innocent Ramah, same as we don't know why God took David's son, regardless of his repentance. I saw that in the David/Ramah parallel. I didn't like it because it goes away majorly from scripture, but it was a powerful message. I love how "doubting Thomas" is being set up, and that it has something to do with death/resurrection.

That was awful, he took an unmarried woman and didn't protect her. I noticed Dallas did it without his mother Mary there. It would have been even worse. Jesus wouldn't let her in his care die like that because of an accident but have a friend rise days after he died. So weird.

It happened because this is a television show, and they wanted a big emotional scene, and for us to ask "Why didn't Jesus save her?" Which, you know, he would have done. If he could do that kind of thing. And if this was something that really happened in his life, which Dallas Jenkins said we have no reason to think it did. Jesus, in Luke and John's gospel (the two I consider the least reliable), healed the ear of a man sent to arrest him, who Peter struck with a sword. I really question whether Jesus' disciples would have followed him--whether Thomas would still have been a disciple of his--if he'd led them into such a dangerous situation, then not healed such a devoted follower, a young betrothed woman, with her whole life ahead of her--and frankly, since Jesus says it's the faith of those he heals that truly heals them, how would he heal a man who was there to arrest him? But see, this is why you have to realize that while Jesus truly existed, not all the stories told about him are true, and are often told to make a point, as this one was. However, it's so far from the original source, that while it's emotionally powerful--I dont' feel that it works. This sesaon is very problematic, and it's lowering my respect for the show. It's becoming too contrived. Too much of the standard TV complications. It's losing that feeling of deep conviction it had earlier. And they are slipping into the standard "Only the Jews who believed in Jesus were good, the others were evil" and that's wrong.

But here's the thing about entertainment-based writers--TV, film, etc--they feel like if they just tell the story they're adapting, they haven't done anything. I know the gospels, in themselves, are missing a lot of details about things we'd like to know. And that's because the people writing them didn't have all the deets themselves. They were not written by Jesus' disciples. They came around later, and were made out of memories of him that survived, combined with some stories that clearly did not happen (it's impossible for both Matthew and Luke's nativity stories to be factual, and probably neither is). People have been tweaking the story of Jesus for a long time now. Adding to it.Trying to make it make sense--trying to understand who this anomalous person was. But the truth is, we'll never fully know him. And the real point of telling his story is not to know him, but to be more like him. And there's more than enough there for that. Love, don't hate. Give, don't take. Judge yourself before others. I'm not angry at the writers, because they're just doing what everybody who works with this story does. Just once, though--I wish somebody would adapt one of the gospels--just one, because they are four different stories, told in distinctly different ways--and not add anything. Let it stand as written. Mark's is my favorite. Because it's the first, and it has the fewest tweaks. I think that's as close as we're ever getting to the real man. And it ends very mysteriously--in its earliest version. Where his body is gone. But he has not yet appeared to anyone.

I agree that while it is a tragedy to die so young and in a horrific manner, we believe that the next life in heaven is where we all desire to be. It will take time for Thomas to grieve and move on (in this “story”). The only scripture that comes to mind to compare this event besides David and Bathsheba may be Job losing his entire family and after mourning his loss returns to God for reconciliation. Earthly life, is what it is. Everyone has a time, a season, a plan for the illusion of time here. But Heavenly eternity in Love and paradisical life is provided when we go home. I do not see the problem as it is only a move through change. Having lost and experiencing the grief of separation, I still know where my home is, and this place is not it. The Creator has a plan for every single life here. But fear from not remembering who we are and Who made all this for His purpose causes multitudes pain and suffering while waiting for their big reveal at the end of this journey. Rama's death was shocking. As with the truth that the Lord's work spans the time from beginning to end, there are reasons, unknown, as to why they happen. From a fiction events perspective, and understanding how the Lord works in our lives, the horrible event may lend to key future events. It may be for Gaius' story, Quintus, who knows. When The Chosen deals with the scriptural components, they MUST get them correct or I'm out. The fiction is...the fiction. It is what it is...

This episode really bothered me. If she had died on her way somewhere and Jesus said I'm sorry but it was her time, it would have been one thing. But she died because the character of Jesus (I need to differentiate because this wasn't in the Bible) seemed to cause it accidentally. He seemed to get joy from sticking it to the pharisees and then accidentally lost control of the crowd. None of that would have happened in teal life. She was also still alive when he arrived so he could have just healed her. Also, spoilers (I guess it's a spoiler): Jesus is going to resurrect his friend Lazarus soon. So he can accidentally cause Phillip's fiancé to die and leave her, but then resurrect his friend soon after? It's going to be interesting when Phillip sees him resurrect Lazarus now. Reva dying is whatever, I just wish they would have done it without making the character of Jesus look like he accidentally caused her to die and then chose to leave her.

IMHO, this fictitious last scene is an insult to Christ’s doctrine and character. It is not Christ’s doctrine or character to contend with anger, incite a riot, and lead his beloved disciples to slaughter. 3 Nephi 11 v29-30, Psalm 23, John 10 v11, Isaiah 9 v6. Truth. 29 For verily, verily I say unto you, he that hath the spirit of contention is not of me, but is of the devil, who is the father of contention, and he stirreth up the hearts of men to contend with anger, one with another. 30 Behold, this is not my doctrine, to stir up the hearts of men with anger, one against another; but this is my doctrine, that such things should be done away. Having said that, in general, I’m a huge fan of The Chosen and have loved many depictions of our Savior in The Chosen! Most members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints are fans of the chosen because they know, and they are deeply committed to the importance of making Christ known to the nations. That is why so many members serve two year missions and try to live Jesus Christ’s gospel and show the love of Jesus all their lives. 2 Nephi v8 Wherefore, how great the importance to make these things known unto the inhabitants of the earth, that they may know that there is no flesh that can dwell in the presence of God, save it be through the merits, and mercy, and grace of the Holy Messiah, who layeth down his life according to the flesh, and taketh it again by the power of the Spirit, that he may bring to pass the resurrection of the dead, being the first that should rise.

As sad as this scene of Rama’s death was it is not written in the Bible. However, Jesus wanted us to truly believe that he and God love us. The pain and suffering in life is meant to be in order to draw us closer to God and Jesus. Listen to the explanation Jesus gives Thomas about not raising Rama from the dead. It’s testimony to what we must learn and understand about the infinite love of God and Jesus for everyone. I'm a fan of The Chosen and it has been really engaging to watch. In this episode, regarding the death of Rimah, I understand Dallas's explanations that the event is meant to help understand the concept of suffering. However, I think the albeit fictitious event was too jarring and also has a number of logical inconsistencies. For instance, a) Jesus heals the blind person a little while earlier but here he appears unwilling or unable to heal Rimah?. Both these options are not consistent with the divine nature of Jesus. b) Jesus loved Thomas and Rimah and it would be uncharacteristic for him not to heal Rimah since he healed many unknown people. c) Jesus often says that one is healed by the faith they show for example, the Centurion's servant and Woman with bleeding. However, here, Thomas does not express any doubt about Jesus's ability (that he has come to be known for) when he implores Jesus to heal Rimah clearly indicating that he believed Jesus was able to do so. d) The strange words of Jesus to Thomas " It was not her time" (which Dallas explained as not being her time for resurrection), were totally off-the- mark, since Jesus raised the dead only to deepen the faith of people and for them understand His divinity, and not whether it was their time for resurrection or not. e) the albeit fictitious event would have put Jesus in a very poor light amongst his disciples and the people following him possibly to extent of ruining his mission since such an event would completely undermine the faith of the disciples in Jesus and in themselves when Jesus sends them out to spread the message and heal in his name. f) I don't think it was necessary to introduce Rimah's death to avoid Thomas from getting married to her since other disciples were also married, or that marriage would come in the way of Thomas's discipleship responsibilities. There were other more plausible ways to remove Rimah. While you explained at length that this is TV serial and you may add conversations and events. That's accepted, but it was not expected that they would add a fictitious event that in fact erodes the divinity and power of Jesus and His mission as indicated in the gospels. Regarding the screenplay of the event, it seemed quite implausible that Thomas should walk right in front of Dominus who has his sword drawn. However, need to commend the exceptional acting skills by the actors Thomas and Rimah and Jesus.

The text is clear: unless there was a reason to delay or there was a lack of faith in the area, Jesus healed all who came to Him for healing. For instance, in Matthew 8:16, it says, "When evening came, many who were demon-possessed were brought to him, and he drove out the spirits with a word and healed all the sick." Similarly, in Mark 6:56, it’s written, "And wherever he went-into villages, towns or countryside-they placed the sick in the marketplaces. They begged him to let them touch even the edge of his cloak, and all who touched it were healed." Therefore, portraying Jesus as refusing to heal someone without a clear, scriptural reason risks altering the fundamental nature of His compassion and willingness as depicted in the Gospels.

So now Dallas Jenkins thinks it's totally okay to falsely portray the character of Jesus? This show has begun taking way too many liberties with the Bible and refuting its truth in the process. It's one thing to add conversations and events that might have happened. It is another thing altogether to change the Truth about who Jesus was and what he did. If anyone can give an example of Jesus denying healing to someone during his earthly ministry, then I will stand corrected. This episode did a disservice to our Lord Jesus to say the least. The bible is very clear (Matt 12:15) that during Jesus' 3.5 yrs ministry on earth, whilst Jesus may not heal everyone (eg those who did not come to Him, those who did not believe Him such as his own hometown), He heals ALL who CAME to Him. I can fully appreciate that during the old testament time and even in our current century, God may not answer every of our prayers or healing. However, to portray Jesus not healing someone who came to him, this is simply not accurate portrayer of Jesus's ministry when he walk the earth (ie healing ALL who came to him, unless there is a sliver of example in the new testament that shows that Jesus did not/ refuse to heal someone who came to him). In fact, it would have been a more powerful episode had it shows Jesus healing Ramah as a plausible scenario (even tho the bible did not mention any case of Jesus healing someone who got stabbed or killed), which is still in-line with Jesus healing ALL who came to him.

How wonderful it is that there is someone else here who has a real problem with this episode and how it violates the nature of who Jesus is and what he did during his earthly ministry. Jesus never refused healing to anyone who came to him during his earthly ministry. Dallas Jenkins has gone way too far in taking liberties with the Bible, and falsely depicting the earthly ministry of Jesus. I have stopped watching this show or recommending it to anyone. I find it even more alarming that so many people seem to have no problem with this significant twisting of God's Word. Maybe it is because so many people don't really know God's Word.

I think Rama's death was important to show that we do not always know God's reasons for why things happen at the moment they happen and that this will be shown later for being an important motivation for other things that happen later including providing background for why Thomas acts the way he does. God's ways are not our ways. This doesn't mean we will always find out - not at all - but that for the purpose of this show, I'm sure it will be revealed later. God calls everyone, including those who have doubts.

@@tmts9633 he shouldn't have invented someone to have her die so Thomas could be alone. He could just have been alone. And don't drag Jesus who would never deny Thomas and let a woman die in his care. He just wouldn't have. This wasn't a broken leg or a miscarriage.

I agree cuz I was wondering how this was going to play out, assuming the apostles (minus Peter) were not married when they went out after the Ascension. I figured Jesus was just going to say no to Ramah's request. But the interesting thing I never considered was Jesus saying He was sorry for not giving Thomas what he wanted. I need to chew on that when I don't get what I want, knowing that it is not what He wants for me.

Mmm, this was a misstep and a flaw in the story. True that God does not always answer yes to prayers, like for king David, but the parallel between the two stories is not correct; in this case, the living God is there with the disciples and performs miracles all the time. It is quite illogical his refusal to heal Ramah, unless: 1) he is worried for the reaction of the people against Rome and Pharisees if he shows his true power; 2) he could not heal her because the action of healing would have been against the free will of Quintus of making an evil act, despite instinctive. This is going to create a cul-de-sac, because now Jesus will be called to explain his refusal and this will create more controversies, but I hope that they will find an elegant way to explain it. The actor that impersonates Jesus was evidently uncomfortable in playing this scene, far from being a touching moment. Also because Thomas cannot play well dramatic scenes. But it is ok, the show must go on.

❤ i interpreted this scene as just because we are followers of HAMASHIACH does not mean that we will not endure trials and tribulations and that you should not let your love be consumed in something or someone more than that of the Father .Thomas loved her, But Father loved her more. ❤. It was a Big Mistake!!!! they created an event that, by all means, would have been recorded in the Gospels. Why would Jesus not raise her from the dead but would (later) raise Lazurus who was four days dead? And, after raising Lazurus, why would Thomas remain an Apostle? Hughe mistake on their part. I thought Season Four, episode 1 was just filler. Episode 2 was great. EPisode 3 lost me as a viwer and I had been watching from Season1, episode 1.

I agree that whole "love story" in the first place was a mistake, and they had to end it, also the death is a huge mistake too cause they made a big scene not from the gospels and it does take you away from the main focus of the whole show. To me that was their first mistake. Sadly that was a big one.. i hope they deal with it well though in the coming episodes and they can go back to the focus theme

Yahusha already told us, that He listens to and obeys His Father, Yahua. He does not do anything of His own free will, He is obedient to the Father's Will. It must not have been Yahua's will for the actor to be raised from the dead.

So his Father didn't want a fictious character who was engaged to Thomas and in Jesus's care, cured from a dumb sword injury not even meant to hurt her and he said it's okay to raise Lazurus days after he died. No.

All the apostles have a role to play and understand the Will of him that sent him is an important part. Suffering is what defines us and either makes us stronger or not. This is Thomas's time to decide whether or not to have faith in Jesus and step out onto that water and float or drown. Faith is the cornerstone of Christianity, as is Christ. This was to build character because the father knows us better than we do. He knows Thomas and loves him but still has doubts. Thomas must focus on Jesus who has a job. This will become more obvious when Thomas finally put his finger in Jesus hand and side after this resurrection. Thomas was the one who doubted the resurrection. Doubting Thomas

Please give one example in the Bible when Jesus did not heal someone during his earthly ministry. There isn't one because it never happened during his earthly ministry. Dallas Jenkins has gone way too far by changing the nature of who Jesus is and what he did while on earth. This directly opposes the Truth of God's Word, and I can't believe how many people don't seem to have a problem with it. My guess is that they don't have a problem with it because most people don't really know the Word.

@jejemjejem7345 I appreciate your reply, but please remember that the bible wasn't written for entertainment. Read 2Timothy 3:16. "The bible is profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness." We have enough entertainment in this world, especially at many churches on Sunday morning. What we really need is Truth and the wisdom and grace to follow it.

Oh come on you guys don’t be like this. To think that Jesus wasn’t human like the rest of us is crazy. It’s not like he refused to help her because he didn’t want to. In the end her death doesn’t exceed the will of God. Jesus had many followers unmentioned in the Bible to say they didn’t die because Jesus is around is just incorrect. In the Bible Jesus says there will still be pain and heartache and suffering even though I’m here. We as people misinterpreted the Bible where it’s all sunshine and rainbows when it comes to being a follower of Jesus
