I always liked how Chris & Lola were a couple without complicating the show by being a real couple, and how Chris can’t deal with women at all, but is always relaxed and himself with Lola. I met Chris once in Philadelphia. He was waiting by himself outside his tour bus on 3rd & South Street after his show at the TLA, leaning on a parking meter with a Sharpie marker to sign autographs but there was no one around. I jogged a block away to my apartment to get a CD for him to sign, and Chris drew a halo on his picture & signed it with a note that said “slow down, man.” I noticed in person that the insecurity and confidence he has on this show is how he is in real life. I don’t think there’s another show out there like this, that plays on the truth about how the main character is in real life. It’s how television shows could have been instead of the ideological indoctrination they were that made everyone crazy. This show, to me, is genuinely funny and warm - it’s a pleasure to watch.

I like it because it satirizes what a load of crap the music business is

It was my favorite show at the time. It surprised me then and now what good actors he and his band members are. Nothing out there like this. I couldn’t believe I found this on KZbin, so happy! ❤️❤️❤️

...Chris & Yola seem to have somewhat secret fantasies about being attracted to 'authoritative' personalities, until their actual "regulations" hinder the relationship(s)...that they BOTH placed, onto the Figures; Yola wants a "Father Figure" with erotic pleasures (22:24), & Chris seems to have a fantastical desire to be 'dominated' by a Woman in 'charge'...to a point... (9:37).... (cont.) ...Even in the 2nd Episode, it was clear they were meant to be together, because of their Musician / Manager relationship; with Anson bringing Yola home to sleep, we KNEW Chris was the one who directed it....(45:19) ..yet EXPRESSES it.... Wonderful Episode.....

For years people have told me how cool, hilarious even, this show was and that it was so terrible that it was not available on DVD etc due to copyright reasons. Now I have watched the first two episodes of season 1 and I seriously don't get it. Cool, maybe a little if you really like Chris' music, but seriously, not funny. I'll give it a few more chances, but so far...all I can say is that if this show was "hilarious" back in the day, then people were really hard up for entertainment back then.
