What a sermon to listen to during this time right now as we do this dance back and forth with our California govenor and COVID-19. I’m curious what stand you might take Pastor on a Governor who won’t open the churches and took away our worship. There have been a couple Pastors in southern Cali that downright said enough is enough and opened their doors fully without any restrictions - no distancing, no masks. What a confusing time we live in.

You don't need a building to worship God. You can worship any where. Secondly no one is telling you dint worship what people are saying is because of the climate we are in its unwise not to bring hundreds of people in a building that's common sense. At my church we have virtual service and every other Sunday we have outdoor service where we are in the parking lot and people come from all over sitting in there cars hearing our service. It's time to go out from the four walls and spread Gods Word. If the government ask you to do something against God that's a problem but the government say dont go inside churches because of a global virus that's having wisdom. Just because government have authority over you you dont mean they control you

Pastor you are not talking about the issue why people riot. The government is not your enemy but talk to a person of color the problem I'm having is you are talking from the lens from a white evangelical who dont understand social issues of certain people

@@craigacook8360 When I think about who Paul was writing to at this time, I begin to remember what these and other people groups were going through at this time. I think his lens that he is preaching seems to be from the Word of God, not a particular bent, understanding, or vantage point. These truths are timeless for us. The Jews were under harsh governmental pressure, enslavement, and oppression. The early Christian was under constant persecution and attack. Nero set fire to many Christians in his Roman garden. He regularly threw them to the lions as sport. He blamed them for the burning of Rome. There were also those like Titus, Domitian, Diocletian, and others who regularly persecuted the early Christians, so Paul was saying some pretty radical stuff to people who were hurting in numerous ways and we can take these principles and trust them today. Will it be easy, not even close, but it is encouraged if we are to be different and live "sacrificial Lives" for God. (Rom. 12:1-2) He just said in the last chapter to do all you can to "overcome evil with good" and bring about peace. I think the question is, should we or how can we be doing more "good" to fight the evil that is rampant in our governments today? Just some thoughts. God bless!

I have a little delima. When migrants our here illigally and they come to a church. And in America helping illigal migrants by law is treason. So should the church allow and help them and risk getting the punishment for treason or tell them to leave that by law we can't?

Are you rebuking the Bible texts which clearly record the limitations to this command. Midwives under Pharaoh? Peter et al admonishing the Sanhedrin they must obey God above man. There is no power or authority for submitting to sin. Truth.

I encourage you to watch the sermon in its entirety. As a Pastor and Teacher, I teach verse-by-verse through entire Books in the Bible. In this sermon, I explain the meaning of Romans 13:1-7 in a sermon entitled, “The Christian’s Relationship to the Government.”

@@JordanNealRogersLet's look at another verse. In another verse, Paul actually opposes the Emperor's (leader's) decision to prefer God's orders to human orders! 😊😊 In the Old Testament, Daniel went against the king's decision and preferred to pray to God rather than worship an image. Have you read the entire Bible?.

I pay my taxes. I do the right thing by govt rules & law. But I WILL NOT SUBMIT TO AUTHORITY who are not respectful, not honorable, DIShonest , Deceitful and who want to harm humanity and my precious children because of insane mandates. God would not want me to just submit with something discernible and evil just because government says so. I will never sacrifice my God or my children to misleading translations of our beautiful bible. Thank you for the sermon. Spiritual discernment is my line to God, & I do not agree with your interpretation
