Oh my... the artwork is overwhelming in the Vatican museum! The ceilings... the sculptures... the paintings... WOW!

When the Vatican needed a restoration of the Sistine Chapel, they couldn't afford it. So Nippon TV funded the renovation of the artwork, and as part of the deal got exclusive license to photograph and video of the restored art. That's why you can't film inside. But, that's fine, because pictures wouldn't do justice to Michelango's paintings in there. You HAVE to see that for yourself one day.

Great video guys. Our visit to the Basilica was so quick! We definitely want to go back and spend some time there. We loved seeing the art work you saw, it's incredible. Thanks for showing us this 🍻

You have to wake up early for these sites. Only way to get a decent amount of time in the sites without getting overwhelmed. Amazing art there, for sure. Thanks friends!

We still haven't been to Rome yet... I look forward to visiting one day. Your video did a lovely job of sharing the beauty and meaning that make this place so special to visit!

Rome is touristy and hectic, but so worth it.

I just found your channel and videos quite by accident, but so glad I did. We will be visiting Italy in three weeks and I am watching and trying to learn all I can. Your Christian aspect was important to us, also Christians, and I look forward to seeing these sites. God bless.

Thank you! We hadn't heard of the Moses with horns statue until we arrived. That was unexpected!

Fantastic information! When I went online, there were several "official" Vatican ticket sites. Can you post the link for the real one?

That's why we wouldn't recommend someone taking their first trip out of the country to Rome. There is a lot you have to learn and be aware of to not get scammed. Also, you can't go last minute or you'll be waiting out in the hot sun all day.

I love the elaborate mosaics everywhere! And those doors were HUGE and made Katy look tiny!

Those doors were massive. We watched Rick Steves walk in front, and even he looked small.

Antonio seems like a Jolly Rancher tour guide. Nice tour of the Christian sites. Fortunately that patch was good enough of Vatican City.

A number of really old churches, going back to the Roman empire, are still in Rome too, like Santa Maria Maggiore.

I mean you want to complain about so many lines but… your waiting in line to see things that shaped our history and things that shaped our faith outside of Israel so the lines kind of makes since lol awesome Vatican tour and info

So true. Lines can be long, but it's not too bad if you plan ahead and wake up early lol. Thanks friends!!

Great idea for a video this one! Rome is incredible but I know what you mean about the hustle and bustle - it's not as tourist friendly as you'd think considering it's pretty much tourist central. Looks like you really enjoyed the Vatican experience! Shame they're so strict with photos and videos, always a good idea to get a guide in those type of places - I can remember having an audio guide when I visited the Vatican Museum and it describing what was going on in a huge painting. The detail was unreal and it took them a good five minutes just to outline what everything and everyone represented. Glad to hear there's more coming from Rome!

We don't like doing tour usually, but there is so much to see in the Vatican museums and it is so crowded it is best to have someone walk you through and explain things to you so you don't miss too much. And we could not have asked for a better tour guide than Antonio. The School of Athens paining has all the great minds of the time hidden in plain site. Thanks for watching Matt!
