In 1986 this building was placed under the care of the Redundant Churches Fund (now the Churches Conservation Trust) owing to the considerable cost of repairs, which were too great for a small community. The Christmas decorations were prepared for a one-off carol service, the first held here for decades; however the church is no longer used for regular worship. I grew up in a small city once world renowned for its reed (and pipe) organs. Karn, principal, and Thomas organs were once produced in Woodstock Ontario, and like Miller and a few other well-known brands, found homes world wide. Your treatment of the space and the instrument makes for a wonderfully evocative video, one that I will definitely share (if Fb allows it) with others who would appreciate it. Thank you for taking the trouble to recreate these few minutes in another time. "Quelle est cette odeur agreeable?"was a favourite of my dad, who was a choir director and his friend (and my namesake) composer and organist Dr. Healey Willan.
