The Christmas void and visiting cannon hall farm with Ridgeline

Went on a trip to canon hall farm in Barnsley where they film springtime on the farm and the one that’s just been on before Christmas, was meeting my mate Nigel for a brew and a catchup, stunning farm shop!! Amazing animals and no contact which makes total sense now I’ve had it explained to me.

in 2009 i had no experience of farming or the realities that came with it. That soon changed when I met my other half Roy, I had a job as a carer and in every spare moment threw myself into farming. I had only ever driven a Nissan Micra and had experience with horses, I learnt the hard way as nobody had the time to show me and soon after arriving I found myself mothering on calves to three quarter bred limmy cows. We spent every available moment on the farm between our day jobs. Fast forward to 2016 two children later we moved into our very own farm overlooking the northern Pennines, Laitha.
we are in a transitional period at present and will finally be milking cows and making the final switch later this year, after years of planning and implementing infrastructure we will be milking 120 Jersey cows on two Lely robots. This will be a huge change and a steep learning curve

I feel so fortunate every day to wake up and do what I love and even better share it with the world and hope it inspires more young people from Preston to spread their wings and think outside the box the world doesn’t need more childcare workers or hairdressers it needs more farmers.

Please don’t change what you do or who you are, it’s what makes you and your videos entertaining and I look forward to next one dropping from the second the last video finishes. As for the music, I love the combination of music and Timelapse’s, and through your videos I have found new music and artists I can follow. If a few people don’t like the music, maybe it’s them that need to question if they are truly following the correct channels and content. I understand why you have appeased a few people and tried something different, but it has been like nail on a chalk board watching this clinically washed out commentary. Those of us in rural Britain forget how the majority of our citizens live. Years ago I visited Syon House near London and children and adults were being taught how to cook on coal ranges. It was a totally foreign idea to them as they all lived in tall blocks of flats. So a reference to solid fuel heating and septic tanks and their latest development has a bigger value than you might realise for a,portion of viewership are being shown matters and attitudes they have no knowledge of. Point out the septic tank is not a waste disposal system for if it blocks you ha be to free it and if it becomes full either you use your own sucker to empty or somebody with one has to do it for you and tha t costs money. These things are hidden from urban dwellers.

My comment about the music the other day was purely because the jump edit cut the music over the top of something interesting you were saying (and you had also been putting yourself down again suggesting you might not be saying interesting stuff). I wonder with those feed augers whether they are getting people dropping unsuitable stuff through them (dumb people cannot help themselves when it comes to doing dumb malicious stuff 'for a laugh') Not sure if you picked up the intesting lighting/camera effect of the high vis digi print shoulders on the ridgeline - it does suggest that it will be really visible to reversing cameras (some high vis gets very muted and unnoticable because it is single block colour which digital cameras can suppress) - not sure if that is an intended effect but worth mentioning to Nigel in your design feedback

Yeah! I for one prefer the old format and maybe we are just of the same vintage but I like the music too! A petting zoo where you can’t touch the animals? I know ecoloi whatever, but seriously! Or youngest was born just before lambing and spent most of his first few months of life stuck under an infrared light in the lambing shed , all dogs, cats and kids got dosed every six months or so because food is meant for sharing' so better be responsible parents and at least kill the worms! I don’t know about your kids but ours lived in the jeep till they went to school and even then probably spent more time in the jeep than they did in school and they were rarely sick never very sick ( in bed for the day) , number two was a dab hand at feeding pets before she was two, number one wasn’t you could never trust him to not rob the lamb till he was off the bottle!
