Wish you'd do an episode on Steiner and Nietzsche. He wrote a book on Nietzsche (maybe the first) and met him, though Nietzsche was catatonic. He had a vision when he met him where he saw Nietzsche as a monk in previous life. There's more to it, including what Steiner felt happened to Nietzsche. Nietzsche's sister wanted him to be in charge of his archive- as had been for Goethe.

I may have to to listen and add what I can, but regaurding how he knew all of this, understand that Steiner had worked out a method to approach the spirit world and the akashic record and thusly he was able to navigate historical events and watch them unfold spiritually and physically. Take that with however many grains of salt, but that is the source of his information that he said was open to anyone who could cross that threshold and develop themselves in a certain way. Regaurding the presence of Krishna and buddha at the resurrection, Steiners conception of it has those entities laying the foundation for Christs work and manifestation. To him all of history and religion paved the way for the coming of Christ and the fulfillment of their doctrines. This is expressed in the gospels as they have no other purpose than to spread the "good news" to followers of those religions that he has come. Interestingly you get a Edgar Cayce discussing and practicing a very similar approach with very similar results. Tbc

I think what people miss when talking about steiner is, none of these concepts he presented his whole life are based on his view. They're completely objective. It's given from the spiritual world. But one has to find that truth in their own heart.

I do love this podcast, and really appreciate you sharing these marvellous, often very strange, conversations with us. Given your history of diving into occult topics, I wonder if I can ask your opinion on one thing in particular. I'd be especially interested to hear what you think since your move towards the Christian faith I've had a fascination/ morbid obsession with intense religious experiences for many years. I find the whole range of phenomena (otherworld journeys, visions etc.) pretty disturbing, not least because of their huge contradictions, and occasionally disturbing messages (thinking here of Pentecostal spirit journeys). The most reasonable explanation I have found to date comes from scholars like H H Price, Gregory Shushan, Jeff Kripal, and also OBE researchers like William Buhlman, and Jurgen Ziewe - that when we die we move into the imaginal realm. In this realm, it's said, the astral material is influenced by thought, so it's possible for groups of people to create consensus realities, deities, whole worlds, which match their religious expectations, conscious or unconscious. Some occultists reason that this explains the wide variety of reports which come from NDEs, OBEs, spirit mediums etc. They posit that people *are* tapping into the very real astral realm, but the realm is actually a vast sea of worlds, all created by thought. Whether we could call these illusions or not, I do not know. I know Steiner was very wary of illusions in the spirit realm. He had this to say about Swedenborg - "The example of an important personality like Swedenborg shows us that it leads to illusions if we ascend to spiritual worlds without being steeped in the ability to step out of the kind of consciousness we apply on the physical plane. We are met by an illusory world. My friends, if you go through all the available visionary literature and read its descriptions of the spiritual world, what you will find for the most part will be illusions of this sort. It is important not to let yourself be deceived by these illusions, because being deceived by illusions at the threshold to the spiritual world is much worse than it would be to fall prey to illusions in the physical world" Anyway, I'm a bit of a lost soul, really, trying to make sense of a very weird world. I'm always keen to gain insight from people who seem to be well versed in the strange, without dismissing it. I thought I'd see if you had any views on this matter! Thanks for reading.

I’m listening to a lecture today and Steiner says, the Purpose of Man today is to be able to bring the Astral Body under the control of the Conscious Ego. extremely powerful words that shook me to my foundation. That really is the entire point of this thing called life in this particular epoch we find ourselves in. I believe it is my duty to continue to keep the flame of spiritual consciousness lit in this ever deepening materialistic world. More and more people are becoming trapped in materialism, with no conception of a deeper spiritual reality. I look out at the fractal patterns of nature from the clouds to the mountains to the rivers and valleys and our wonderful plant and animal friends; and all i see is SPIRIT! A living force that imbues physical matter with LIFE! WHY is anything alive at all?? That is where i find the Truth of something more, something that cannot be directly perceived with our physical senses. I can’t even begin to try to comprehend it or quantify it, all i know is that I see the world i exist as a living fairytale world, there is still magic to be found out there if we could only use our beautiful gift of imagination
