The big mouse, Reepicheep, and his fellow sword welding mice crew are actually descendents of the mice that cut Aslan free from the stone table in the last film. Because of their noble deed, they and their descendents were given the ability to speak.

It’s the same Stone Table. The Narnians built a mound around it to protect it, it’s a sacred place for them. The place is now called Aslan’s How.

@@NewfieMovieReactions And about aslan being like "God", he pretty much is. He's the creator of Narnia. C.S Lewis was a devout christian and wrote aslan to represent Jesus Christ in Christianity. If you think about it: Aslan dies in Edmund's place to pay the penalty for what Edmund did and revives. Is exactly what Jesus does in Christianity, and it was on purpose. In the next movie you will see a "hint" to that, to Aslan being a representation of Jesus Christ in Narnia. Even the choice of the animal was on purpose. One of Christ's titles is "the lion of Judah".

@@vitormenezesdemattos967 J.R.R.Tolkien and C.S. Lewis were best friends back in University where they both discussed theology and philosophy among their two worlds. Tolkien was the influence on Lewis's own works. C.S. Lewis was Atheist (which he practiced in his 20) it wasn't until his 30s that he converted to Christianity.

@@seanblankenship4953 yeah, i know. In fact "the screwtape letters" was dedicated to tolkien. I see paralels with christianity in TLOTR as well. The ring for example... feels good at first, makes the person feel powerful, is seductive... but it destroys the person in the long term. That's sin. And i know that Lewis was a former atheist. In fact he even says that his main argument against God was the very same argument that made him start rejecting atheism. "My argument against God was that the universe seemed so cruel and unjust. But how had I got this idea of just and unjust? A man does not call a line crooked unless he has some idea of a straight line. What was I comparing this universe with when I called it unjust?"

@@vitormenezesdemattos967 that’s such a stupid argument for God though, so I am confused how an intelligent man like him couldn’t work out subjective morality. It’s about not wanting to die, so we say it’s bad. And the easiest way to survive is to build a ‘civilised’ society in which we don’t kill or harm each other; therefore we condition ourselves to believe it is ‘unjust’ to inflict harm etc. Don’t you think it strange he couldn’t see that? I do.

I've always been fascinated by Edmund's character arc. The book even says he "became a much wiser and quieter man than Peter" and his title "The Just" seems to point to him being able to judge and make difficult decisions with a clear head. In The Horse and His Boy, he gives an enemy who doesn't deserve it, mercy, and then claims "Even a traitor may mend...I have known one that did." And that is my favorite line of the whole series.

I really like how it shows in this one peter almost makes the same mistake as ed did in the last one but he comes in and makes a quick choice not to make the same mistake twice the definition of wisdom to learn from ones past actions

29:38 It should be noted that Miraze didn’t believe that the Pevensies were the “real” kings and queens of Narnia. He thought they were just a group of kids propped up as figureheads to boost the Narnian morale. It was during his fight with Peter (an experienced 30 year old man in a teenagers body) that he actually started to believe that the Pevensies were the real deal. Of course, Edmund knew this and took advantage of it as he was famously known as the cunning Diplomat of the group.

@@NewfieMovieReactions In this film, we all like edmund because the edmund we see now is a healed one. In 1st the book, when lucy heals the wound made by the witch, lucy describes edmund´s look as better than she had seen him in years, the good appearance he had before going to a "horrid school", we assume he had a bad experience that changed him in a bad way. that´s why at the beggining of the story, we see edmund with such a spoiled and bitter attitude. We can theorize that the cordial and the experience lived in narnia healed him psychologically, and thanks to that, according to lucy, he became "his real old self again", but to be fair, he always had a darker and more complex personality compared to the other siblings.

One of my favourite elements in this movie is how you can tell how experienced the Pevensies are. Yes, they physically are like kids, but they have the experience of a lifetime gained during the Golden Age of Narnia, when they were still kings and queens. So, for example, Peter fights with the experience of a man who’s fought in many battles, him being High King, and Edmund is able to navigate a negotiation with admirable grace and cunning, him always taking the role of the diplomat. Thus, some of my favourite scenes to watch are the ones when Miraz is taken aback by these kids’ skills, since he didn’t believe they truly were THE kings and queens of old.

I feel like in these movies Narnia kind of acts like a symbol for childhood and the endless imagination as a child. And Peter and Susan being the oldest siblings are growing up, becoming adults so they can no longer return to Narnia. It's kind of them saying goodbye to their childhood and entering the next chapter in their lives. I remember feeling really sad and bitter when I first saw this as a kid but now as an adult it feels very bittersweet but beautiful.

When I first saw this in theaters I was disappointed because I thought the action sequence at the end was way too long and I got bored. So strange because when I rewatched the movie, I loved it and it's actually my favourite Narnia movie now, even though it deviates from the book quite a bit. I always love Lucy, but Edmund also becomes my favourite in this film (his sass and sarcasm are perfection), and Peter's arc is really good. Aslan is the creator of this world, and he does have powers. But the dryads and the naiad (river god) fought of their own free will, he just woke them up. You have a really interesting perspective on certain things, like the scene between Miraz and General Glozelle. I always thought three men DID die during the raid, but Glozelle was lying about it because he's visibly afraid of Miraz and knew he'd be punished for losing men. But your thoughts that nobody died and Miraz is insinuating that Glozelle should kill three men and blame it on the Narnians for propaganda purposes is something that had never crossed my mind. That's so dark! I really like Miraz as a villain, but I also really like the Queen who we don't see much of. I just like the idea of her struggling to have a child for a long time and then finally having a boy, and being this loving and nurturing person who doesn't realise how cruel Miraz is, and was probably very fond of Caspian originally as her only "child", and then when she learns Miraz killed his own brother and manipulated events since to get to the throne, she's distraught but honestly what can she do, she has no power of her own. But in the end she accepts it and leaves her whole world behind to buy a better life for her son and start fresh. It's a good character arc and I wish we could have seen more of it.

Here's a brief Narnia timeline for you btw 1000 Narnian Years - the events of LWW 1015 NY - the Pevensies hunts a white stag but finds their way home, Narnia falls under stewardship by their sister kingdom Archenland, or descends into disorder 1998 NY - Telmarines invade Narnia, lead by Caspian the First. 2303 NY - Events of PC Caspian would rule till his death in 2355 NY, succeeded by his only son Rillian.

Initially I never liked Peter and Caspian's rivalry nor Peter's arrogance whenever Lucy suggest to just search Aslan but now that I think about it, Peter really was right at his own place. They just came back after thousand of year and realized what happened to their kingdom, they don't have much resources or people and currently their leader is Caspian a prince who ran away from his own kingdom to save his life and can't even claim his own throne. Attacking Miraz's castle in the middle of night was their only which again got ruined by Caspian's own meddling and they ends up losing more Narnian. If I was at his place, I would be furious on behalf of my people and not to mention stress up since a big war is about to break and it's a dead end fighting them anyways. They really didn't have much time to search for Aslan with all these situations and their faiths were tested. Peter was thinking is a more logical and profitable way. In the end I think it's Edmund who saved everyone's *** in this movie 😂 he signal the army, held the archers who tried to kill his siblings from top, had awesome comebacks and entries, killed Wolf and the White Witch without being bewitched like other boys, manipulated a person like Miraz into having a duel with Peter and keep Peter and his people's spirit high by continuously telling Peter to fight and smile for his people. If this isn't a great character development then I don't know what is. His sass and actions were so on point, not to mention his strategic skills of dealing with enemy. He's by far my favorite sibling in all 4 and represent what human truly is.

Fun book facts: Narnian air has magic in it. During creation, the air and earth of Narnia was full of life, everything that drops on the ground grows, including an iron bar from London that grew into the lamp post. Its effect on visitors give them enhanced strength and courage. In terms of travel, you have to be called by Aslan to an adventure, in times of Narnia's need or the visitor's growth. Although Narnia is created by Aslan, it is inhabited by pagan gods as well, including the river god (at the end of the film) Bacchus and Silenus (featured in Prince Caspian book, symbolizing the revelry of victory) and the giant Father Time (who was named Saturn in one of the books' early draft and described as taller than common giants in Narnia) who will be called by Aslan to help end the Narnian universe. For C. S. Lewis, the inclusion of pagan gods in Narnia as its people ruled over by Aslan and his human rulers not the other way around, is that myths and legends are safe under Christian light, like how medieval Christians incorporate pagan figures in astronomy and named the planets after them. It also means that nature is alive and God-made, and must be respected and cared for the way He intended us to.

Aslan is like Jesus and Narnia a magical place but not really. I can't tell you what exactly Narnia is because I will spoiler you for the rest of the story. Sadly there is only one more movie after Prince Caspian a The Voyage of the Dawn Treader. If you want to know the rest of the story you must read the books to know who Aslan is, what Narnia is, and what happens to the kids.

I read all of them. I honestly didn’t like the last book. It was just… very anti-climactic. I get it was supposed to be the end of all endings and happy, but it just felt so empty to me.

•For starters, it's been 1300 years since the Golden Age of Narnia, when the Pevensie children ruled. Shortly after they returned to their own world, Narnia was invaded by the Telmarines of Telmar, far west of Narnia. The Telmarines won and the surviving Narnians went into hiding in the woods, becoming children's fairy tales. •Prince Caspian X is the rightful heir to the Telmarine throne, but due to age, Narnia is in a period of regency under his uncle, Lord Miraz. Now that Miraz has a son of his own, he no longer needs Caspian alive. •So timeline wise, it has been a year since the Pevensie returned from Narnia and given the difference in time, what has been a year in our world has been centuries in Narnia. In terms of production and the actors, it was 2-3 years since the first film when production started for this film. •Yes, when Caspian blew Susan's horn, the Pevensies were summoned, as the Narnians had theorized. •As in the book, the film does a good job at showing Miraz is not the only Telmarine with ambitions for power. •Here, in the realm of Lewis' use of Christian allegory, Lucy takes on the role of Mary Magdalene. As no only believed Mary when she said she had seen the Risen Lord until they themselves saw Him, no one believes Lucy when she says that she saw Aslan until they themselves see Him. •"You have my sword." All that is missing here is "And you have my bow" "And my ax." •Keep in mind that the Minotaurs, like many of the Dwarves, served the White Witch. To the Pevensie children, they're an old foe. •Or just say three men were killed without actually killing three men. •In the book, the Narnians had already engaged in several battles against Miraz and the Telmarines and were not doing so well. When Edmund hears the description of the war, he compares it to the War of the Roses. •So while the White Witch does not appear in the book, it is nice to see Tilda Swinton. What is in the book is the werewolf's dialogue. It should also be stated that in the book, Caspian never once thought of using black sorcery against his uncle's forces. •"Curse you sudden, but inevitable betrayal!" - Wash from Firefly. •In the book, as Caspian, Peter, and Edmund engage in the duel and battle, Susan and Lucy accompany Aslan on a miracle tour around Telmarine Narnia, turning the people away from bad. •Aslan also returned Reepicheep's tail in gratitude of when the mice ate through the bounds on Aslan's body after his death. •Yes, Aslan is God, in that Aslan is Christ. •Part of it is age, as Peter and Susan have grown too old for Narnia. But Edmund and Lucy will return.

In the book Caspian is closer to Edmund's age and is rather tongue tied to be in the company of the great kings and queens of old. There is no competition between Caspian and Peter (or romance with Susan). Castle attack is also not in the books.

I don't care what anyone says, this is my favorite out of these movies. I LOVE the vibe this movie gives, kind of reminding me of the vibe of LOTR in a way as this is a bit more dark for a Disney movie. Like seriously, there's decapitation and people getting pelted with arrows. When I saw this movie in theaters, I didn't find it as magical as the first movie, but then as time went on and as I saw it more and more throughout the years, I really grew to love this movie out more than the first movie. I love how they give the pevensie children more to do and I really do like Prince Caspian's character. Overall, a really really good movie.

Please do watch Voyage of the Dawn Treader next! And if you want to give the books ago. They were written out of chronological order so I will give you the reading order with a spoiler-free reason to read them. 1: The Magician's Nephew. This has the birth of Narnia and how the White Witch came to it. It also explains how Professor Kirke got the wardrobe! 2: The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe. 3: The Horse and his Boy. The only book to not feature main characters from our world. It explores the countries South of Narnia and takes place while the Pevensies are kings and queens. 4: Prince Caspian. 5: Voyage of the Dawn Treader. Visits the islands to the East of Narnia, towards the land of Aslan. 6: The Silver Chair. More of the world, this time the wild lands to the North. It's only a generation after Caspian. 7: The Last Battle. All the people from our world who have been to Narnia are in this one, but they show up in person late.

I still think they are best read in the order they were published, NOT by the story chronology. The books written to fill out the details of the world then have the largest story arc in place to fill out, and even by your order the end of 2 still has a time skip with book 3.

The beach they arrive on in narnia was shot here in NZ at Cathedral Cove, it’s near where I live. It’s always so cool going there and feeling like you’re in narnia haha 😂 I love Reepicheep! He is descended from the mice that ate away the ropes tying up Aslan when he died, and cut him free. As a reward, Aslan granted them speech and they grew bigger and became the talking mice of narnia.

If you wanted to know more about Narnia besides the three Disney-12 century fox movies, there are the seven books, there was an animated version of LWW, and there were four films created by the BBC , The movies are LWW (The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe), PC (Prince Caspian), TVD (The Voyage of the Dawn Treader), and SC (The Silver Chair).

What I love about this film adaptation is that it takes moments where characters are presented with a plan of action and refuse it...and flip that on its head and ask the viewer "Well, what if they DID attack Miraz's castle? What if they DID try to summon the White Witch?". And I love that. Because they WERE options that were discussed in the books. Going or trying to go through with these options adds more drama that works extremely well for a film adaptation.

You must read the books if you really want to understand. This saga is really theological but, the references are more explained in the books. Is really sad that there's no film adaptation from The Magician's Nephew book, in that one you can find the origins of Narnia.

Prince Caspian is one of the few movies that I can say is better than the book 🤭🤭🤷🏽‍♀️ The book doesn't have as many action and tension scenes as in the movie. The book is very descriptive, most of the time it is about Prince Caspian talking to the Narnians how they should act, Peter, Susan, Ed and Lucy only meet Prince Caspian and the Narnians at the end of the book (there is no romance between Caspian and Susan and no kind of rivalry between Peter and Caspian). It's been a while since I read the book and maybe I was wrong in my descriptions, mad the fact is that Prince Caspian was one of the most boring books to read out of the 7 books (and strangely the Book 'The Horse and His Boy' is one of the my favorites, because when I read reviews many said it was the most boring, but for me it was really fun 🤭and I'm really looking forward to seeing the adaptation that will come)

When I first saw this movie (I was a kid and my family and I went to the theater) it completely didn't register why Caspian's uncle wanted to kill him. Then my mom explained it to me after.

Glad you did the one. Most people just do the first one. The next movie, Voyage of the Dawn Treader, is kind of a mixed bag, but I think PC is in some ways better than the book. Book Miraz is a pretty dull villain, especially following the White Witch, and the Telmarines were pretty non-descript. The movie did a GREAT job of fleshing out Miraz and the other Telmarines, and modeling their culture on Golden Age Spain was inspiring.

In the book and movie, one year has passed on Earth and 1,300 years in Narnia. However, the cast look like they've aged three years since the first movie. When arguing with his siblings in the train station, Peter should have said in the script "It's been three years."

Aslan is not really God, more like Jesus. There is a being called the "Emperor-beyond-the-sea" who is considered Aslans father, therefore he would be God rather than Aslan.

I apparently need to rewatch the Narnia movies because I remembered, like, none of this. Also, I would highly suggest stopping at the first two when you do the Mummy movies. I'm pretty sure a lot of fans of those movies, myself included, refuse to acknowledge that a third one even exists but the first two are in my top five favorite movies.

C S Lewis wrote the entire Chronicles of Narnia as an allegory of Christianity. The films mask this, but it is very clear in all the books. A beautiful series of novels.

The best part of the book was that the RIVER asked Aslan's help to free him from the CHAINS (wooden bridge) human made that is why Aslan roars and the RIVER shows his true form.

"The lion is basically like God?" Basically, yeah! C.S. Lewis was a Christian and The Chronicles of Narnia series is FULL of religious imagery and metaphors. For example, Edmund's betrayal in the first movie was meant to represent Judas, and Aslan giving up his life so Edmund could be forgiven represented Jesus dying on the cross. It's really fun to go through the movies and connect the dots!

If you haven’t already done so, you should really read the books! Prince Caspian isn’t supposed to be a grown man! There are other things that bothered me but I won’t spoil the books! 😂. There are guides to the reading order online but I always read them in order of publication, “The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe; Prince Caspian; The Voyage of the Dawn Treader;The Silver Chair; The Horse and His Boy; The Magician’s Nephew and The Last Battle!” Then there is another way of reading them that puts, “The Magician’s Nephew” first and “The Horse and His Boy” second which is probably more chronological! I think I read them in this order after the first movie came out! I was sad when they didn’t make the rest of the movies! But there is a BBC series that was made for most of the books and they stuck closer to the books! I’ve read and reread them since childhood (probably second grade)! I was an advanced reader!

I love this movie, the only thing I don’t agree with was the choice to make Caspian older a bit weird. He’s only 13 in this. That’s the only thing though, I like his performance.
